It always saddens me so much when a police officer loses their life. Officer Owens was from our own area. When we heard the breaking news that an officer had been shot,we began to pray. Officer Owens, Even though your work here on earth is over now,we are still praying for your wife and your young children. God Bless you and Thank you for helping to make our streets a safer place. I'm truly sorry that it took your life. People Thank a Police Officer today. Let them know now that they are appreciated!

As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, a while back our "Awake" magazine featured an article to commend and encourage our Police Officers for the fine and difficult job they are doing across the country. This was such a loss and tragedy to our community. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Derek Owens at this time. My deepest sympathy.
