Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Yvonne D. Pettit

I met you once and that was in 2006 when the fair was going on and our dog shaggy was dying and you led us through to save him.
I know my dad tried to help you with what was going on in your personal life. And he feels as of your murder was his fault.
But in reality the monster who did this to you had this in his head and that is was sickens me. Some nights I know my dad cries because your gone. But your an angel in heaven and I can't wait to give you a beautiful hug one day .
You are remembered in my heart and my family's heart.
Rest my dear rest

Domestic violence perpetrated against any police officer who is sworn to protect is something that is cruel and simply heinous beyond any normal comprehension. You were a very brave and courageous woman, Deputy Sheriff Pettit. Rest in peace and the people of Louisiana will never forget your admiration, humility and courage. My father served in the city of New York for almost forty years as a policeman with the 102nd precinct.
