I dont know the family but the SWAT family is bigger than we know. My heart goes out to the family. After losing my cousin on 10/18/07 the hurt is still there and reliving everything that played out this morning it doesnt get easier. I pray that you find comfort in the memories and the times were spent together.

Greater love hath no man than to lay down his life for a friend. Go rest easy my brother we'll take it from here.

To the family of S.W.A.T. Officer Randal Simmons. I know that no words can sooth the pain that you feel right now. Just know that the whole Law Enforcement Family is behind you. We morn with you. It takes a special family to support a law enforcement officer especially a swat officer. But it also takes a special kind of person to be a swat officer. I know that all the men and women on my team would tell you that family is the most important thing besides GOD. I know that we officers all think alike more the most part. So rest easy knowing that Officer Simmons is in GOD's hands now and is watching over us.

I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Officer Randy Simmons. Members of my tactical team and I traveled to Los Angeles in 2006 and trained with LAPD SWAT and could not have received better treatment than we did. Although I didn't get the chance to meet Randy, we did meet Officer Jim Veenstra and our prayers go out to his speedy and healthy recovery as well. These two men are definitely "The Best of the Best". Thank you for your dedication, service and sacrifice Randy and Jim.
