To the Family of Officer Randy Simmons:
I watched the memorial service this morning, and wanted to express my condolences to the Simmons family.
I haven't had the fortune of ever meeting Officer Simmons, but could tell he was the type of individual to imprint those who were blessed to know and love him.
It was a lovely, moving tribute for a very special man. Thanks for sharing your stories with the public sector.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers
Warm Regards,

I have been blessed to have been able to watch the funeral service for Officer Randal Simmons today online. Officer Simmons was truly an amazing man and it is a shame that he was taken from us while he still had much to offer. As a police dispatcher, I worry every day that one of "my cops" will face a similar fate on my watch. My prayers go out to Randy's family, his fellow officers and those dispatchers who take care of theirn officers on a daily basis. Heaven is a brighter place now that Randy's light is shining there and my life is brighter too because I was able to share in the celebration of his life.
God Bless,

I WISH YOU WELL, THIS IS TO THE SON OF OFFICER SIMMONS, SWEETIE YOU GOT TO BE STRONG FOR YOUR FATHER, YOU SAID HE TAUGHT YOU SO MUCH AND NOW IS THE TIME TO CARRY ON YOUR FATHERS LEGACY, AND BE THE MAN OF THE HOUSE, BE THERE FOR YOUR MOTHER AND YOUR SISTER BEACUSE THEY ARE GONNA NEED YOU.
AND GOD HAS YOUR BACK BABY TO HELP YOU BE STRONG FOR YOUR MOM, AND YOUR SISTER.

I am so sorry for the loss of this great man. He was truly a HERO. A real icon to aspire to. I cannot ever remember when or if there has been so much air time devoted to a memorial to anyone other than a president. My heart is heavy for the family and friends of this great man.

I just wanted to first say "Thank You Officer Simmons." You are gone now and the grave loss swept the country showing that you were a true and valliant soldier. You have gone above and beyond to help/ protect and to searve.... and in doing that you gave your life. For this I am grateful. Although I did not know you I hold you close to my heart and express sincere remorse and sympathy for you and your family. Rest In Peace. You are now at peace and I pray that before you get too comfy behind those pearly gates that you look down on all that are praying for you, sending you love, and appreciating all that you've done. You will be missed. And to end this on a good note.....

To the Wife, Children, Parents, Sisters;
All members of the Centurions that Guard the Security of the Communities in this United States are ONE GOOD MAN short. The heinous act of MURDER of a POLICE OFFICER is worst of the worst. Officer Randal Simmons distinguished himself as a 21 year veteran of the L.A.P.D. S.W.A.T. team. He was one of the guys that was the 911 for the rest of the Police Department. The L.A.P.D. S.W.A.T. team has been in existence since 1967 and this is the first casualty to one of its Officers, this speaks volumes for the professionalism of such officers. The unit also has the distinction of NEVER LOOSING THE LIFE OF A HOSTAGE. The best of the best has been struck down in the prime of life by a senseless murderer. I know that mere words can not do him justice for his loved ones. But I leave you with a famous quote by General George Armstrong Custer, " GLORY ERNED ON THE FIELD OF BATTLE CAN NEVER BE TAKEN AWAY , YOU TAKE IT WITH YOU TO THE GRAVE ".
this Officer has distinguished himself in that category and his loved ones can take some so-lice that he is with a great fraternity of brothers , now serving our Lord in Heaven. Peace be with you brother , you have given the ultimate sacrifice , go forth and be acknowledged.

I have never been more moved by a person I have never met as I am right now. I have just spent the last two hours honored to watch the funeral of Mr. Randy Simmons. My heart and tears go out to his wife and children right now for the loss of such an amazing Husband and Dad. I too know that pain as I lost my Dad at the far too young age of 54. He was a lot like Randy, in that he lived his life to see other's happy. Thank you Randy for your life here on earth. From today forward I will do my best to live as Randy did, Selfless and for God.

My son Jeremy died in a car accident.
My survivng son Joshua is a police officer.
