Hi there. I’m glad Officer Newton hasn’t been forgotten. You may not know me, but I am his former stepson and felt the urge to look him up again. That day was probably one of the worst days of my life as a child. Be that as it may, it was even worse on my Mom. She was married to him not even for 6months before this happened. May his soul Rest In Peace. In three days will be the 11th year anniversary of his death and I was just hoping the world hasn’t forgotten

My deepest condolences to the family members of Officer Newton. Despite his unfortunate death on January 20, 2008, a little over 10 years ago, Officer Newton has not been forgotten. May his soul now rest in Heaven.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 4th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. As I read the refections of your co-workers , I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you.

I have lost my little brother, who have assume the possision of been my big brother, you took care of me when I was down, you became my protector from people who seek to harm me, and now you are gone for ever, but not forgotten. I miss you the day you where taken, and I miss you now two years after, and I am still missing you. That special bond is still in tack little brother. Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

To those who loved Officer Newton, my heart goes to you all. Know that you're not alone in this journey you walk. I lost my fiance in the line of duty January 2003 and my world was forever changed. Even as time as gone forward, and I've found many reasons and ways to smile, I still have not forgotten the man that he was. Dennis was a beautiful person and he forever has a part of my heart, just as I'm sure Teddy will always be a part of yours.

It takes a special person to put their lives on the line everyday to make this world a little safer for us all. I know many of these men never would've thought of themselves as "heroes" but they were in so many ways. It's sad that it they had to lose their lives for some of us to see that. Having said that, thank you Officer Newton for helping to make this world a better place. You will not be forgotten here in Winnipeg. I know this isn't a very manly thing to do, but if you happen to run into Dennis up there, please give him a big hug for the kids and I. Dennis was a good man and we miss him more than words can say.

I just want to take some time out to thank all law enforcement officers and personell for showing their deepest condolences. For those that did not know my husband, he was a very outgoing person that loved life and police work. I not only lost a husband but a partner, bestfriend, and confidant. My heart is still full of pain and my eyes full of tears but reading emails like yours do ease the pain. Daddy the day i heard about your death i thought it was a dearm that i was going to wake up form but i didn't wake up. I wanted you to be there to see me get married and graduate form high school. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever.
