Dear Detective Shivers,
How could we survive as a society if it were not for brave, deticated law enforcement officers such as you. Many good citizens do not realize how blessed we are as a nation to have "every day heroes" who put on that badge and go out into a world of danger to, once again, fullfill their vow to serve and protect.
My heart and my prayers go out to your wife and children. I pray that Almighty God's comforting hand will be with them as they face this most horrific pain. But someday ... someday, Detective Shivers ... they will all be with you again, in God's presence. Until that day, they have the mountain of memories of what a wonderful man you are. Your children have the knowledge that their Dad is a hero and the lessons of life (you have given) - and how to live one's life - are there for all to view, remember and hopefully emulate.
With deep appreciation for your service,
