Hi Ricky,

I can't believe it still, that you are gone, I think of you often, and today was a little rougher than others, (it was hard to hold back the tears) as I looked at your picture and remembered all the nice words of encouragement you gave, continue to watch over us my sweet angel ....RIH

Ricky,

My brother, words are still never enough but I know there is now some peace knowing some justice has prevailed though no amount of justice can bring you back. The jokes, the laughs and sometimes the deep heartfelt stories shared. May you continue to be that watch tower for us who remain. You are my brother, you are my friend and you stand with me with that title Marine that goes far beyond the end. You are missed, loved and forever appreciated.

This never gets easier big brother. I love you dearly. I hope you are proud of me. Ive accomplished a lot this year. Im driving now, I have a better job, I feel in love and I start school at the end of the month. I know your smiling but it still hurts not having you here to see this yourself. Your kids are humongous and T is doing a great job with them. Know that we feel your presence daily and think of you often. See you soon, your girl, Hope.

My brother, even though its been 5 years the pain still remains. The loss cannot be replaced and though it is said time heals all wounds, I know this wound of your loss has left a scar never to go away. You are eternally missed, loved and always appreciated. I know you are providing an everlasting presence over the lives of those whom you touched and cared for. Always my brother, always my friend and always my fellow service member. God's grace.

Officer Ricky L. Bryant Jr., I never had the opportunity to meet you officially, however I did meet you through your family, friends, and colleagues. You see, my sister lives in Atlanta, and alerted me about the shooting. I learned that you were from Rochester, where I was a 28 year veteran Sergeant with the Rochester Police Department. You family had your funeral hear, and our Department as well as the Rochester Community was devastated upon learning the news. We hosted your family and memebrs of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department as best we could. We rolled the red carpet out for you, and wanted to convey to the world how when one of us ar hurt, we ALL hurt. I have had many many hurts during my thirty (30) years of service(I retired in May 2010) and your tragic death and that of your partner remain as one of the most hurtful. I have thought and prayed for this tragic event to culminate in the bringing to justice those responsible. GOD has answered our prayers. I continue to pray for your family, your department, and all of the Men and Women so honored to live the life of a Law Enforcement Officer. GOD Bless you sir, and may Heaven continue to shine upon you.......

The trial began this week and the prosecution rested today. I hope that your family has closure to this soon and justice is served. I will never forget passing you two in the hallway of South Precinct and saying "see you later" on that night. Getting the call an hour later that you both were gone was unreal. May you rest in peace. Your brothers and sisters at DKPD will never forget you two.
