I arrived in the office this morning to the news of the ambush. I heard about the search for your assailants but they did not tell me how you were. Then I heard you were gone.
Two weeks ago, we had an officer down call go out and I started running for the door. But I am only a civilian, I had to stop and watch my colleagues race to the scene without me. Fortunately the officer was bruised and battered but alive. I wish I could do more. You could and did.
May all who knew you and all who loved you find comfort in your devotion to your fellow citizens. May the cowards responsible for your death be caught and face justice. May your memory be a blessing.

I know what your family is going through right now. The worrying, the pain, the tears...it's all unbearable. My first cousin was killed in the line of duty two years ago. He was a Wiggins Police Officer in Mississippi. I know he has welcomed you into paradise with his great big hug and charming smile. May God bless you and your family. You are a hero!

I had the opportunity to meet you on a few occasions while I was still with DKPD. You were a true man who cared about and supported what was important in life, your family. As with all the other fine officers that we have lost, we must all vow to remember the sacrifice that you made and continue the battle. Rest In Peace.

Eric I am sure we passed each other on I-285 or somewhere in Dekalb. The blue line has been stricken again. It is sad that two officers had to lose their life for a senseless act. Rest in peace Officer Bryant you and your partner are 10-8 with God....thanks for your service.

Police Officer Eric Barker,
Thank you so much for making this world a better place. Let us remember when others run from a dangerous situation it is you that took the oath to face the dangers of that situation to save others in harms way.
DeKalb County, the State of Georgia, and The United States of America, have lost a true warrior that was murdered by an individual(s) that Police Officer Barker had sworn to protect.
Police Officer Barker may you rest in peace and keep on patrolling your beat in heaven as one of God's bravest officers.

Hearing about this brought back so many awful memories of two of our officers who were gunned down very much the same way on April 31, 2007 (Sean Clark and Jeff Shelton). Our hearts are completely broken to have this happen again. May God with the family and friends of both Officers Bryant and Barker always. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all as you endure this ever-painful time. God is with you and justice will prevail. Thank you both for your brave and dedicated service...you will NEVER be forgotten!!!
