What a sad day here in Georgia to learn of 2 fellow officers died doing what they did best. They were heroes and lost their lives to some cowards. God bless the families and friends that were affected by this tragedy. May justice be served to the cowards.

God only knows why he chose such an angel on that day. I pray that you did not suffer. Such a personality and smile. God be with your family. I am proud to have served with you. My heart aches for your family those beautiful children you so often displayed and ask me why I didnt have pictures of my kids with me. I struggle with the why? We shall rejoice at your home coming. Love you forever brother. I carry pictures now. I thank you.

We pray it never happens to us, knowing it will, at some point. My heart breaks every time. Godspeed, and thank you.
Lord, may You grant hope and healing to this officer's family. May You give this officer his place of honor, because he carried out Your work here dutifully, and without regard for his life. Bring comfort to his friends and fellow officers, and I pray that Your justice is swift and sure.
Peace be with you.

It was two hours before that I was reading reflections about "STEP" when I finally said a prayer for us all and went to bed. The phone rang at this odd hour, and I knew, for some reason to answer. The "Crown Vic" just didn't do the job. I cannot explain the emotions on a call of that nature. I know "STEP" is waiting for you with his hands out with a smile to guide you to a better place. GOD bless you and your family.

Since the day that these fine officer's lives were so senselessly taken, while simply trying to make a safer community and at the same time make ends meet for his family, I have been just sick to my stomach and painful in my heart. I know that Officers Bryant and
Barker's brothers and sisters will bring the cowards who are responsible to justice!
My husband use to work for DKPD and had the pleasure of working with Officer Barker on occassion. He shared with me some great memories of him. He said he was not only a strong and dedicated officer but he was a pretty funny guy too!
I will contonue to pray for the Dekalb Police as well as
Officer Barker's friends, extended family, and certainly his wife and children. God Bless
