I did not know Deputy Pursifull, but I wish to extend my condolences to his family and friends. I am a graduating Senior Criminal Justice major at KSU and am planning on entering law enforcement after graduation. His death has not changed my plans in this area at all, but rather has intensified them.

To the family of Deputy Sherriff Pursifull: Please know that the entire nation grieves with you. Our hearts absolutely hurt that you have lost your loved ones. Being from Arkansas, I of course didn't know Deputy Pursifull, but I have no doubt that he had to be particularly special, loving and kindhearted to have worked with a canine partner. Your entire family will be in my prayers.

To Deputy Sherriff Pursifull and King: There is a special bond between a man and his faithful four-footed friend; many people never understand that. I thank you, on behalf of the everyday citizen, for your faithfulness to your service, your duty, and your partner. God bless you both!
