Jason, Where has the time gone? You are thought of and remembered so often. I know you are watching over us all but it sure would be wonderful to hear your laugh today. We all miss you greatly. ~ A Close Friend of Jason and his wife, Gwen

Jason,
Thinking of you, Lisa, and your families these past few days.
So many memories.....
Snowmobiling was fun, movies, dinners at Applebees, I remember nights in Canal Park in the black Ford truck and Beretta. Miss you.

Jason
You are missed and thought of each day. Whenever I hear "My Maria" and "Beer for my horses" I think of you and smile. We all miss our get togethers. One day we will all get together in heaven again.
Keep watch over us all, I know you do. You are missed so much. It is hard to believe it has been six years.

As the wife of one of Jason's fellow officers, I can happily say that the memory of Jason and the words he left behind are still remembered strongly in our home and hearts. What a huge loss for all those who worked with him and knew him. It is at least of some comfort to know that Jason is up in heaven enjoying the warm, fresh air helping to watch over and guide those he left behind still protecting and serving.

Jason,
We miss your smile and your friendship. Time might ease the pain, but it doesn't change the loss. While we can't understand why God needed you, we are know that you are a guardian for us there as you were here. Thank you for your service and your friendship.

Jason, tonight we wrapped presents for 84 children that will be attending the second "Jason's Presents". We will be missing you tomorrow when we hand out the gifts. I will never forget that very first shopping trip we took to buy presents for kids back in 2003. Thanks for all the great memories!! We sure do miss you!! Merry Christmas Jason.

I am dismayed that the county you worked for is insisting that the words you wrote to your parents on the first day of the job be removed from your memorial. I called the County Administrator and two supervisors to express my outrage. Surely there must be some law firm in Wisconsin who represents officers and police associations who would be willing to mount a pro bono legal challenge to their decision.

Remembering Office Zunker this evening after watching the candlelight vigil in Washington D.C. on the webcast. Watching it brought back the pain, numbness and grief we felt when we were there 6 years ago for our daughter Melissa (EOW 8/1/02 Mpls PD) We keep Jason, his wife, parents, family and fellow officers in our thoughts and prayers. May you find comfort in memories and knowing Jason was a hero, who was doing his job, to protect the public. Now he is patroling the roads in heaven. God Bless!

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

Jason,
Unfortunately you are the sole officer we lost in Wisconsin this year. Your family will always miss your presence, and your fellow law enforcement officers will always do everything we can to remember your sacrifice. In May of 2009, four of us will be riding in the Police Unity Tour to remember your ultimate sacrifice. We will be there as your name is read aloud in Washington DC and we will stand proud as your represenatives. You will forever be missed, and we will be sure that you will never be forgotten.
