Reflections for Corporal Courtney G. Brooks

Remembering you on the 4 year anniversary of your passing.

I always think about Corporal Brooks and his family around this time of year. I am married to a police officer and I remember driving by the scene of the accident just minutes before it happened. I remember praying that God would protect all of the officers working.

To this day I wonder why God allows things to happen. I pray that the family of Corporal Brooks has support from loved ones and from the police community.

RIP Corporal Brooks - you are gone but not forgotten.

Hey Courtney...

Sorry I haven't left any messages before this one but you know me, i'm not good with words. Damn bro I miss you man. I think back to that evening and all the events that took place after and It just isn't the same around here anymore without you here. I miss coming to work at night and seeing your car at Post 4, and me coming thru blowing the horn or makng noise with the exaust from the mustang and seeing your hand come up at the window and wave. We had some fun times and I know that I will never forget you or everything that happened on that dreadfull night almost 3 years ago. I just wanted to stop by and say hello and tell you that I was thinking of you brother. Keep watching over us man cause you know that we need all the help that we can get. Until we meet again.....

I did not know you but from reading all the reflections about you I just had to say you sound like a wonderful person. I know you are resting in God's arms and still watching over your brothers. My brother-in-law is a sheriff and I forget how quickly life can change. Thank you Corporal Brooks for your service, for making that ultimate sacrifice. Your family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers.

Something led me to this site again.. it's been awhile since I've been on Corporal Brooks' site. I remember driving by the scene of the accident just minutes before it happened and saw Corporal Brooks outside of the car setting up cones, etc... As the wife of a police officer who was also working that night, I breathed a prayer for all the officers, that they would make it home to their families in the morning.

We do not know why God allows things to happen, but we can have some small measure of peace knowing that He is with us as we learn to live in the new reality of life.

RIP Officer Brooks. Your family is forever in my prayers.

Hey Courtney,
You came across my mind, so I thought I would write something...and try to stop tearing up. The wedding plans for Nick and I are coming along well, but meeting with the photographer was the hardest part, and I am sure you know why. Nick knew that he wanted you to be the photographer at our wedding (as well as a best man). We both broke down talking about that to the photographer....it was hard. But I know u will be there on that special day! Susan and the kids are gonna be in the wedding, and there will be a special place for you!! I just saw Susan and the kids this past Saturday for the Easter holiday..the kids are growing so fast and they are so beautiful!!
Please keep watching over Nick and Rodney while they are at work. Of course you are thought about and talked about almost everyday by them...they miss you a lot! Susan, the kids...we all miss you!

Sorry it's been awhile brother...just been busy down here! I can't believe it's been over two years. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you in some way. The guys I now work with see my tatoo and ask about you all the time. You don't know how that makes me feel. I'm honored that they want to know more about you, but still brings back the most horrible New Years Eve I've ever had. You've changed my life in so many ways, not only by your sacrifice, but also by having the honor and privelege of being your friend. I can never thank you enough for that. I miss you so much Bro. Please keep watch over everyone, and know that we will meet again someday...

Your heroism and service is honored today, the first anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for the solace of all who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. To your parents, I share your anquish in losing a beloved child which surely has to be life's greatest sorrow. You are all in my heart's embrace today.

Rest In Peace

Court,
As I stood over your grave on New Years Eve, I still find it hard to believe that you are gone. Although it has been two years since that horrible night, it still plays fresh in my head. Your humor and delightful personality is greatly missed by all. Im positive you had a hand in my little car incident on Christmas Eve, not funny dogg. Keep watch over your family and friends. Sending hugs to the rays of sun in the sky because I know that is your new post. You will never be forgotten !

Courtney...Wow 2 years have passed and it seems like only yesterday. You left a void in everyone's life that can never be filled. I will always remember you coming into communications and showing us all the pictures you took of your family. I know that family was important to you, so always watch over Susan and your children and know that your work family will always be watching and remembering you. Until we meet again.

Well, Courtney, today is the 2nd anniversary of the worst day in our lives. Never in our worst nightmares would we ever have thought you wouldn't be here. We all miss you so much. Dad, as usual, doesn't say much but he misses you and "Old Buzzard" every day. Blake and Raigen are beautiful children and talk about you and miss you. Susan will never get over you. The 3 of them miss you so much. You said you would always be with Susan, and I believe you still are. Take care of her and Blake and Raigen. I'm getting ready to get my wonderful grandkids for the night so that Susan can grieve with your two "musketeers" Rodney and Frasier and Teara and Michelle. We miss you so much.

Courtney,

I just wanted to say that there is not a day that goes by that I am reminded of the day you were taken from us. Its been almost two years to the day and has been a struggle for me as well as for others that knew you. I am sorry for what took place on that day and I know I could not change the outcome. You always be in my heart and prayers. Thank you for your service and dedication. You will never be forgotten. Merry Christmas to you and your family and a Happy New Year.

I still think about you to this day. I did not know you personally but many of my friends did. I heard stories about you and I was there when my good friend Chuck got the news you left us. I went to your funeral and even though you were gone, you touched me.. You are a hero and may you rest in peace.. You will always be remembered for what you did.. Rest now Courtney, your brothers and sisters got it from here!!

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.
