Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Chad McDonald
CHAD
I KNEW HIM FOR ONLY A LITTLE WHILE,HE WAS ALWAYS QUITE AND SOFT SPOKEN. BUT YOU KNEW HE WAYS THERE. AND YOU FELT SECURE IN THE FACT THAT HE WAS THERE, I WILL MISS YOU AND I WILL FOREVER REGRET THE FACT THAT I DID NOT TAKE THE TIME TO GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER THAN I DID.I PRAY TO SAINT MICHAEL THAT YOUR SOUL MAY REST IN PEACE AND FOR YOUR FAMILY.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the men and women of the Bibb County Sheriff's Department. It's especially sad to see another LODD when the agency is just starting to recover from Deputy Whitehead's death. We had been keeping up w/ Deputy McDonald's condition the past few days and were saddened to hear that he succumbed to his injuries.
"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders
and said, "No Lord. I guess I ain't.
Because those who carry badges,
can't always be a saint."
"I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough...
and sometimes I've been violent
because the streets are awful tough."
"But I never took a penny,
that wasn't mine to keep...
though I worked a lot of overtime
when the bills got just too steep."
"And I never passed a cry for help,
though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I wept unmanly tears."
"I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around
except to calm their fear."
"If you've a place for me here, Lord,
it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But, if you don't...I'll understand."
There was silence all around the throne,
where saints had often trod,
as the policeman waited quietly
for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on heaven's streets.
You've done your time in hell."

Chad,
I look back at all the good times we had working together; and i am reminded that we never realize how someone touches your life until their gone. you were one who touched a lot of lives.
your sense of humor when no one could tell if you were joking or serious. you never hesitated to back other officers up. i remember when i went to the motor unit and i passed Unit 346 on to you i said make us proud. and you did just that. Honestly i have never heard a bad thing about you. There are so many things you'd like to tell people when there gone. but we should never take anything for granted. If i had of known that the morning we had breakfast together on Zebulon rd would be the last time i saw you. I would have told you it was a great honor to serve with you. not only have i lost a co-worker but a member of my family. Id like to think that when you arrived in heaven you were not alone.
you heard the voice of Deputy Greg Clowers welcome you home.
and one by one whitehead, and all of the other law-enforcement officers who have passed before you were there for the biggest welcome home celebration you've ever seen. Thanks for the memories Deputy Chad Mcdonald(346)
May you rest in peace. until we meet again
youll always be in our hearts and well miss you brother.

I barely knew Chad when he started working with the corrections department. He was very likable and I enjoyed the times that we spoke togather. I left and went to work on the streets and he followed thereafter. My heart goes out to his family. I also worked with his dad and you are all in my prayers. God Bless and you will always be in our thoughts.

Dear Brother,
A line is made up of millions of dots, remove one of those dots and the line suddenly becomes incomplete. Each time a brother falls from the "Thin Blue Line" this line too, becomes incomplete. I know that you will be missed by your family, freinds, and co-workers. REST IN PEACE MY DEAR BROTHER, YOUR JOB ON EARTH HAS FINISHED, BUT YOUR WORK IN HEAVEN HAS JUST BEGUN. GOD HAS SAID "BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS".
