Lakeycha-

In my own grief, I've failed to keep in touch with you as I promised I would. It's hard to believe that it's only been a year since Chad left this world. I can still see Mike so clearly in my mind crying for his friend as I held him.

I know that this year has been extremely hard on you and Tyler without Chad. I admire you for being able to face each day. I admire you in so many ways. You're compassion for others is shown in your notes left on Mike's page.

As you face this next year without the man you loved so well, know that someone out here feels your pain. If there is ever anything I can do for you, please let me know.

Sitting here thinking about you, the things you use to say and do. I hear a voice calling my name, could it be you or is it because I am in so much pain. As tears roll down my face, I continue to stare out the window hoping you is there. I still wonder why you were taken from me, maybe god has another plan. I just wish someone could help me to really understand. Is it you the star Tyler see everynight shining so beautiful and bright? Yes it is you watching over us to make sure everything is alright.

We still continue to miss you daily. Tracy and Mandy went and place a christmas tree on your grave. It look really nice and I know you will appreciate it. Tyler continue to ask for you during the day as well at night. Everyone continue to struggle since you is not here with us on a daily basis. I know when God called you, Mike, and Joe he called home one of Bibb County Finest. Remember that you is loved and you will be miss dearly. I found a picture on your phone that I will cherish forever, also I forward to your mom and mandy. Your parents think of you daily and they also continue to struggle and with the holidays are here it will be even more harder to bear. We will continue to love and think of you everyday. Chad, I think of you each day as I remember Mike. Mike wrote a goodbye note for you and I hope in the future to give it to Nikki. I participated in the Police Unity Tour with the Virginia Chapter last month and rode for Chad. I just wanted the family to know that they've been in my prayers and Chad will not be forgotten.

I have the memorial bracelet from the ride if a family member wishes to contact me, just call my Department and I'll make sure you get it.
