An Angel in the sky must leave his place of rest,
Gently tucking his wings beneath his armored vest.
For duty has called, There is so much work to do little
did he know, This one is dressed in Blue. Arriving on the Scene, he knows just what to say " Follow me, Fallen Brother, I"ll show you the way." "Your Duty has ended, Your work is now through." "Come hang your hat beside mine, I'am a cop, too."

He was a cub scout, He loved the motto be prepare. He loved this country that gave him hope. He made it a point to give all he could for his UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. It was his way to give back what they gave to him. (FREEDOM). He was quiet, but knew what he wanted to accomplish in his life, He did get to be #1 in my eyes, even like he would say it's on my high school football uniform. You will always be in our hearts, until we meet again. Love 2nd Mom & Pops

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Deputy Nguyen and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Deputy Nguyen has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.

To the family, friends, and colleagues of Deputy Nguyen, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Deputy Nguyen is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

For those who pledge to uphold it, Freedom requires a sacrifice the protected will never know.

Vu,
I went to elementary school, junior high, and high school with you. We lost contact through out the years, and I apologize for that. Man, we played football, and baseball together.

Bro, I love you. Please give us that wear the badge the strength you had.

Take care my brother,
I love you and i'll miss you

There must have been a higher calling for Vu. Vu, I respectfully thank you for your years of service, your time, your dedication, and leadership by example. Most of all I thank you for the man you were. You led my brother when he was so young, I never worried about him when he was with you. It was so nice to have someone he considered a true friend help show him the way. I will never forget. Your quiet serenity, always confident, showing us how to be. So much that never had to be said. All the best to you in your new life, for someone, somewhere else needed you more. Lead on, Vu.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Vu when he worked in central. He was the nicest, funnest guy I had ever talked to. We would joke around on all the "baby's momma drama" and the little "hood rats". He always kept me smiling. I remember how excited he was on being with the gang unit. I had left and came back and he didn't forget and I certaintly didn't forget him. I'm grateful that I got to see him and talk to him briefly one last time a few weeks ago.

Vu, I will miss you so much, you have left quite an imprint in my heart. I'm so proud of you.

Our family grieves with Deputy Nguyen's wife, the SCSD, and the community at large. It is apparent that Deputy Nguyen was an incredible officer and a loving man, with an infectious joy of life and pride in his job. We pray that God will comfort all who mourn his loss, and serve justice upon his murderer.

You will not be forgotten, Deputy Nguyen; rest in peace, sir.
