I am so saddened over the tragedy of Officer Haws losing his life. I pray for his wife and children and hope they will receive some comfort in the fact that he was a HERO. Not only because he died in the line of duty but also for the work that he did every single day and for the wonderful man that I keep hearing so many great stories about. As a citizen of Exeter, my heart is breaking for this family whose children go to school with my own kids. THANK YOU OFFICER HAWS FOR ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE TO KEEP MY FAMILY AND OUR COMMUNITY A SAFER PLACE TO LIVE. May God be with you and your family.

My heart grieves for the family of this young officer. We as a law enforcement family have lost way too many of our officers lately in the line of duty. I only wish that the public really knew of the sacrafices that are made everyday by those who serve them . My husband and I are both in law enforcement and have lost a dear friend who was also gunned down. This seems to be happening way too often. May God bless the family left behind and I hope the public recognizes this family and the sacrifice they made by supporting the husband and father that they lost. We dont get into law enforcement to become rich, it is something that starts in the heart , the desire to help your fellow man and hopefully make the world a better place. May God bless and keep all my brothers and sisters in law enforcement. Laura Wilcoxson

“There is no greater love than this. There is no greater gift that can ever be given. To be willing to die, so another might live." Thank you for your courageous service, You presence will be greatly missed by many. You have been a valued member of the SAR and Law Enforcement communities alike, and in your passing there has been left a hole that can not be filled. May you be at peace.

My sister Cherly Castro, could not had said it better:

The Bible Tells Us: To Rejoice when a loved one has passed and to cry when a child is born. Yet, we always seem to do the opposite.

Remember, when you losse someone, they are free from all hurt, sin, pain, disease and illness. They have gone to a much better place than we are.

Yes, we hurt, to miss their touch, seeing their face, hearing their voice and the fear of forgetting the memories of the ime together.

However, this is our feelings here on earth. While they are entering the gates of Heaven. Fore Eternal Life. Peace and Happiness. Paradise! They feel none of what we are going through.

Our whole purpose of life, being on earth, is to enter the gates of Heaven. Eternal Life! Everlasting Life!

As we go through each and every day, we will remember all the special moments with our loved ones that have passed.

The time we spend here is for no other reason than, where our Soul shall land in the end.

For the pain we suffer today, turn to Prayer. Ask for the strength to get through this tough time. Our Father will never let us down. Live today, for our soul tomorrow.

God Bless the Haws Family.....

'A Part of America Died Today'

'Somebody killed a Policeman today!'
Part of America died along with piece of our country he swore to protect
will be buried with him at his side. The suspect that shot him will stand up in court
with his counsel at his side demanding his rights. While a young Widowed mother must work for her kids and spend many long lonely nights.

The beat that he walked was also a battlefield too just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, today they killed a Policeman in your town or mine.

While we slept in comfort behind locked doors, a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city street and stands at each new rookies side.
He answered the call of himself and gave his all.

'And A Part of America Died!'

I didn't know Detective Haws but he was a sheriff of Tulare County and I am greatful for that. He was protecting his family and my family and I want to say THANK YOU for what you did. You did not deserve to die but God has a better plan for you and your family will prevail at this sad time. You were very brave to become a sheriff and for that I am greatful.
