Reflections for Police Officer William Eric Freeman

dear Children of Officer Eric,
Your Daddy was a wonderful man and I know you are so proud of him! My husband taught him in school and he talked about what a fine young man he was even back then. he made all of you one big family because of his big heart! You must honor him by staying strong together and helping your mother. He would want you to be happy and successful in life. It is Ok to be sad and to cry!! Tears are good for the soul! One day the tears will not come as often and you will be able to remember your Daddy without crying.
Your Daddy was a true Hero and the man who shot him will pay for his crime. I send my love and prayers to all of you.

Someone send me this yesterday. I lost my daddy in June so this will be my first Christmas without him. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

GOD WILL WIPE AWAY EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES;
THERE SHALL BE NO MORE DEATH, NOR SORROW, NOR CRYING.
THERE SHALL BE NO MORE PAIN, FOR THE FORMER THINGS HAVE
PASSED AWAY. (REV. 21:4)

"MY FIRST CHIRSTMAS IN HEAVEN"

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas
choir up here. I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring. For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away, We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessing of love he has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I wish to extend my sincere condolences to Officer Eric Freeman's Family. My life is truly blessed by knowing Eric. He had such an infectious smile with all he came in contact with. Our department and community will always remember him and the love he had for his job. We are thankful he also shared his beautiful family with us. Seeing Elijah while he was in the 'oven' until now has been such a treat, not to mention when the others could stop in on days school was not in. Your HPD Family will always remember you and we will always be here for Leslie and the children.

In great tragedies such as these we find ourselves in each others arms giving the families and friends our greatest sympathies for the loss that they have suffered and when it comes down to it that is all we really have is each other in sad times such as these. We have suffered a great loss and my sympathy is out to the family. We have lost one of Huntsvilles finest, a true hero in every way.

The Thin Blue Line

In Memory of Eric

The Thin Blue Line just got thinner tonight.
With one Officer less the stars don't shine as bright.
When the call goes out for Officer needs assistance
You race to the scene, lights flashing in the distance
As your brother in blue stares back up at you.
The blank look in his eyes, the tears on your face.
The heart sinking feeling, the emptiness inside.
You scream over the mic, Officer Down!
Can they hear me? Where are the medics?
Why is it taking so long? He can't die!
As the emotions drown out the surroundings
As you choke on your own tears
Now you begin to realize
The Thin Blue Line just got thinner tonight.

It only seems like yesterday that we were playing basketball at my mom's (a.k.a. Mimi's) house in the country! Whether it was a birthday party, Thanksgiving, Christmas or just a "get-together" we always had some fun! I will always remember helping you move several times and how it never seemed like work because you were a fun, and a contagiously energetic person to be around.
YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!!! I wish I had gotten to know all of your children but I only got know two of them. But I do know that you were raising them to know God and that is the greatest gift any parent can ever give their children! My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Leslie and the children. May God wrap you all up in his blanket of love and peace and let you all know that this is just bye for now...

Brother,

When I heard what happened so many thought started going through my head. I remembered one of the few times we spoke when I was in FTO phase and you talked about you and Leslie going muddin' and how much fun she had. When I saw her tonight we talked about that. I want you to know that you do not have to worry about Leslie and the kids. We all will make sure that they are looked after. Rest in peace brother we will always remember you.

This world has no idea the loss that not only his family, and our family has suffered. Eric Freeman was truly one of the best people anyone had the priviledge to meet. With everyone Eric met, there was a long lasting impression of a fun loving, devoted and respectible man who had the honor of doing a job he loved deeply. Eric was a man who loved his family more than anything. He was a good husband, a good friend, and a great, great father. "E-DOg, through ups, downs, and whatever else may have came you are one of the few men that I truly respect and am proud to say is a friend. We'll miss you deeply. Love you man."-joey
