- For many years this officer stood the watch... While some of us lay about at night, this officer stood the watch...
While others of us were attending schools and, yes, even before some of us were born, this officer stood the watch...As our families watched the storm clouds of war
brewing on the horizons of history, he stood the watch...
Often he would look around and see his family needed his guidance, but he knew he must stay because,he had the watch...For many years he stood the watch so that we
and our fellow citizens could sleep soundly in safety knowing that this officer would stand the watch.
Today we are here to say...
"The watch stands relieved..."
Relieved by those you have led, guided, and trained...
Friend
"You stand relieved...
We have the watch."

Davie, I have always said one thing I really miss about working for the Macon County Sheriffs Office, was talking with you, no matter what you always made people laugh. You always had a way about you, that you could cheer someone up, no matter if it was the Officers you worked with or the people being arrested by those Officers. I have never been able to meet someone that was respected by officers and those who are arrested more then you Davie. I still remember the day I was called and notified of what happen to you, It still has me in tears today. Now working for a different agency other then Macon County, Davie I know I will keep with me the laughs and memories of being your friend, and the knowledge of what I learned from you. There has never been a better co-worker then you. God bless you Davie, I know you will be watching out for everyone down here from your new home, an until we meet again rest in peace my friend.
