Jonathan, you were an amazing, kind, loving, compassionate, fair, and firm cop. You were a better friend. It has taken me this long to be able to write something up here. I visit this page often and miss you so much. I think of all the fun we had, and fear we shared. You were fearless and a born leader in the community. You touched so many people in a positive way that you were woven into the fabric of the community and hearts of the people you interacted with. I just wish I had taken the time we had together and used wiser. I love you brother, and miss you. Be safe up there and thank you for watching over me all these years. I know you are....

It's almost here...it's still hard to believe that this is all real and not just a really bad dream that seemingly never ends. I miss you and Donta both very much, you guys could always make me laugh. And your singing in the office when you knew me and Jeannie were having a rough day, I would give anything to hear that one more time. My disappearing cheese snacks don't seem as magical anymore, lol.

I talk to your mom and she misses you so much, what a beautiful and strong woman she is!! Of course you know that. She has what seems like endless strength and love for everyone and many projects to help others that she has developed in both you and Donta's memory and honor. I think that is one of the things that keeps her going.

The next couple of days are the hardest for all of us, not that you aren't remembered everyday, but I know you know what I mean.

I love you and miss you guys.

Hey "Yo",

It's taken me a long time to finally post something up here. I remember getting that phone call at around 5 am. My mom knew I had worked the road the night before and had in service the next day, so I knew it was something bad for her to wake me. All she could get out after I answered was that two PBSO deputies had been killed in Pahokee, I immediately knew who they were. Someone made a phone call to my SO all the way up here in MD and spoke to my sheriff. My FOP president walked into my in service class the next morning and told me that the sheriff had approved me to drive my patrol car down there and that I was on leave at that moment. As I drove down there it was unreal, I couldn't believe that I was going to bury "Yo", not my fellow Cadet Commissioned Officern from PHS AFJROTC FL9314, not my fellow detective from the Shive Island Metro Police Department (Lol, We had active imaginations), not my fellow defense attorney from Palm Beach County Youth. I called your mom to tell her that I was on my way. Even under the circumstances she was still glad to hear from me and just said,"Be safe on the road baby and come to the house when you get here." I'm not gonna let this get too long, this is just the first time I've taken to talk to you since you left, I was kinda scared to let this stuff flow. I love and miss you bro. Keep looking out for me, "Bo", Jack, Lil Mark and all the rest of us who grew up on "The Muck" and still wear the badge. You and Donte are part of a great legacy. I'll be home in June, I think I'll some see you and finish this talk then, it's still much needed. Rest easy, I'll see you soon.

D/S Wallace served proudly and was deeply loved and respected by those who
knew him. It is a tragedy to lose him. We never know when our lives on this
earth will end, but we can make a reservation in Heaven now and assure us a
place when God calls us to Himself. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life
(John 14:6) and He PAID the price for our sins on the Cross so we don't have to pay the penalty for our sins. Yipee! If we accept His payment by faith we can have salvation and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. It is not something we must earn, it is a gift. The most precious one we can ever receive. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith_and this not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God_not by good deeds, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2: 8,9. For without faith, it is impossible to please God. And our faith must be in God's only Son, Jesus Christ.
You were a credit to the uniform, D.S. Wallace. My heart goes out to your
loved ones left behind and may the Lord comfort them as only He can.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Deputy Wallace, especially to his fiancee. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Jonathan, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Jonathan's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Jonathan's life was about so much more than the way he died. Jonathan will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Deputy Wallace, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)
