"What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal."
As Officer Miller now patrols with God's immortal police force, by his actions here on earth he has taken his well deserved place in the rolls of our honored heroes, whose names will live forever.
I honor Officer John Miller's life and salute him in death.

I shared the details of John's accident with my high school Regional Occupation Program (ROP) class while discussing The Officer Down Memorial Page. I wanted them to understand the sacrifices our law enforcement brothers and sisters make on a daily basis. We are all saddened by John's death and please know that many individuals will be thinking of John and his family this Thanksgiving holiday. Our prayers are with your family.

By virtue of the fact that you put on that uniform, you made California and, by extension, this country safer. The whole country should mourn at the loss of their unknown friend, warrior, and champion. Godspeed, thank you, and rest easy because your watch is taken, my friend.
For the family of this officer, he was much more. We can only hope to extend our love and support at this time. All law enforcement families know what might have to be sacrificed, but only you know the extent of this tragedy. We are with you in spirit and prayers. God grant mercy and comfort to you.
God bless and keep a keen eye out for CHP.
