Trooper Linn-
I just wanted you know that I always hear people saying how much they miss you. I remember one day as I was trying to cross George Street I was really getting mad because no one would stop and let me cross and here you came and I said, "Now maybe someone will let me cross lets go," and you laughed and said to me,"You don't think they'll stop to let me cross do you? they will speed up."
We managed to get across but, that was just too funny. And to be honest with you I have no problems getting across that street now. I believe you have something to do with that.
I always ask the guys how your family is doing and I am glad to hear doing good. Keep watching over them and all of us. You are missed by everyone!

Brian, I still can’t believe this happened. I miss you and hearing your voice and having all the conversations we had together. You are definitely my hero, and I will never forget all the good times we had together. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about you and wish that this were all a bad dream. Both houses of the legislature recognized you recently. That was a very hard day for me and yet it was such an honor for you. It was a little ironic that you were recognized because you were never the type to do things just to stand out. You always lived life to the fullest and in that I find some comfort. That is in deed a lesson many can learn from. I too will always be here for Melissa, Paige, and Madeline. Vicky, Jacob, Hailee and Trevor all miss you more than words can describe. I will know that you are a true Hero and the way you lived your life is an inspiration for so many people. God Bless you and I will see you again some day. I love you brother.

Its been a while since I looked on the ODMP, ands its no easier seeing Brians picture on here now then it was in November. I still have Brians picture on my phone, and can remember the last time we talked on the phone. Brian loved the guys he worked with in the panhandle, but I couldnt wait until the day I could work with Brian in the South. Mellisa I read were you moved to Hurricane. Brian would love it down here, me and Ward would be minutes down the road. You couldnt have seperated us. I miss him everday, and think about him every time I put on the green uniform ( which Brian was so proud to wear). I remeber telling you and paige at the funeral that we would always be family, and from the bottom of my heart I truly mean that. I live in Char. and if you need ANYTHING call me. 550-8263

Hey Melissa, I couldn't bring myself to leave a note before now. I always look at OMDP daily but somehow, I guessed it might just "go away" if I didn't log onto Brian's site. After reading your last post, I had to leave you a note. I can hardly believe it's been 3 months since your life was turned upside down! As I told you before, you are walking in the shoes that non of us wives EVER want to walk in.
I will never forget to day we were having lunch with Josh and his new 3rd grade friends in September 2006. Most of the kids already knew us. Especially Rich with his community safety talks and tour of the cruiser. When quiet little sweet Paige spoke up and said "My dad's a State Trooper" and smiled from ear to ear!!! After talking to her I found out his name and that he was stationed at Rich's former detachment in Charles Town. What a small world. She was sooooo proud to say that Brian was a State Trooper!! I will never forget the look on her face that day. It wasn't long before you and I met and became friends. We are so much alike at times. Knowing you didn't have anyone up here to call on, I told you I was a call away day or night. Our husbands stick together and so do the wives.
You made it through the worst day and week of your life. You continue to be so STRONG! You do it for Brian and for the girls who need you desperately. I'm so glad we all got together the other night. I felt like Brain was there with us as we shared in a time of remembering him with his co-workers and friends of the WV State Police. I loved the pictures.
I hate that you are leaving but I know you are taking care of the plans you and Brian dreamed up together. I am thrilled that you got the perfect house. To have it look like the one you and Brian found up here and yet it's 400 miles away.....it was meant for you. You will always feel him with you through the love that you shared.
I know our friendship will continue for many years to come. I'm so glad to have known Brian but mostly for the friendship that we have. I look forward to watching Paige and Madeline grow into beautiful young ladies. One day our kids will be grown up and we will be Grannies HA! But until then, your are in my prayers daily and know I'm only a phone call away.
I love ya girl,
Rae-Rae

I miss you terribly Brian, but I hope you see that I am doing everything we talked about and everything you wanted me to do in this situation. Madeline still looks for you in the mornings and Paige still draws her little pictures of you with your glasses on:) I think about you every minute of every day and can't wait till we see each other again. And like I said before - don't you worry because it's all getting taken care of. All the guys really miss you up here. I went to the christmas party and got to see everyone you graduated with. Gilmore said some really nice things about you during his speech. It made me even more proud to be your wife. I love you so very much and my heart wishes you were still here to hold. I miss you hiding stuff from me on high shelves because you thought it was funny that i couldn't reach them. I miss the little piggies you used to draw for me everyday. I just miss you and everything about you. I will always have all the memories though and nobody can take that from us. I bought a new house in Hurricane and you would absolutely love it. it's definitely you. See- I told you i would move back down near Huntington where you wanted us to be. Madeline is getting so big now and oh my god is she getting sassy! Paige will get her braces off soon can you believe it??? I hope you know how much I love you and miss you.

Here we are almost three months after the loss of our Brian. That stone faced young man that all of you see at the top of this webpage is so funny to me. To me, Brian was like a little brother, and I still see him in my heart as a little boy. We had so many wonderful times as children, and as adults, of course, we grew apart, but when we did see each other, it was like we fell right back into step. Though our family continues to be devastated over Brian's death, I cannot begin to express my pride in who Brian was. In his short life, he did more things (all of them honorable) than most people do in a long lifetime. We have so many reasons to be proud of Brian, and though I miss him so much, I know he would have no regrets. He died doing what he loved, and he died with honor. He will watch over us always. We miss you, Trooper Linn, and love you always.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Trooper Linn. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.

From reading the reflections left for Brian, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Brian's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Brian's life was about so much more than the way he died. Brian will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.

Trooper Linn, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.

Wishing you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)
