Thank you for your service Trooper Linn !!!!

Brian, I can't believe how long it has been since your accident. I still remember that little boy who loved to devil my dog Beau, you and your brother Aaron. Sitting at our house on Harrison Avenue and the laughter about that dog going after you two youngsters. We miss and love you, Elkins was different back then we sure had some good times with your family and ours. Between Elkins Police Department, and Elkins Fire Department, and Randolph County Emergency Squad, we were all one big first responder's family, and you kids were a light in our lives, the FD Christmas parties, etc. I remember Bill telling me a story about your Dad calling him in one day early morning hours, like 4 or 5 a.m., when he got there, he asked your Dad what we had going on, he told him "it's your turn to cook the eggs." We laughed and did some funny things too, a more simple time than today. How we miss those days. We think often of your family, knowing that you are watching over them, and Dad is there too. Prayers to all until we meet again.

Dad,
As I am about to start my senior year of high school, I can't help but feel your presence beside me, even though you left this world so early on in my life. Your spirit has guided me through the years, and I find comfort in knowing that you've been watching over me all this time. In the vibrant colors of a sunset, I see glimpses of your warmth and love, reminding me that you're never truly gone. When I see a butterfly, I know it is you saying hello and reminding me that you’re okay. As I embark on this new journey, I carry your memory with me, pulling strength from the beautiful ways in which you continue to touch everyone’s lives. Thank you for being my guardian angel.

Brian,
It is so hard to believe it has been 15 years ago it happened. There isn't a day that goes by that in some way I think about you and all the good times and fun we had together. You are an inspiration to me and many others. I keep a photo of you in my office to remind me of you and to strive to do good for others and make a positive impact in some way with the work that I do.

Brian, I have read every single reflection for you here… I ran many a call with you in Jefferson Co with Independent Fire Co. That night was my brothers birthday and I was at his house and didn’t go on the call for the crash (I didn’t know it was a Trooper involved initially ). I wonder if I had run that call if we had gotten u out quicker… if it had might of made a difference. So many people say many good things about you…your friends, family…it still haunts me not going on that one… Mike has been broken ever since that night… I heard him when he called for help after you crashed (after the fact) and I have never heard someone asking for help that desperately …that deep…he would’ve given his life to make u better that night. Still gives me chills hearing that transmission. I just haven’t had the words since then…I see your wife giving updates and such. I can’t imagine how much they have had to endure. I still come each year and read updates in the fall. Hope all is well with u in heaven buddy, we are holding it down here… Don’t know why I checked in on you tonight..but I am glad I did. You always smiled for the fellas in the FD and we cracked jokes together on crashes… even if it seems everyone else has forgotten about you, just know we haven’t….you are still missed and loved always. Sorry it took me so long to write

My dearest Brian. So much hate and sadness going on in the world right now. I wish you were here. The girls are good... Madeline got braces and has been eating mashed potatoes for 3 days and Paige is breezing through second semester at MU grad school, but of course I know you know all of that. Please watch over my dad and Darlene. I love you. I miss you. Always.

11 years to the day and it still seems like yesterday. I think about you and your girls often as well as the conversation we had the night prior about getting to go deer hunting with our dads. Man were you ever excited to be able to do that again after missing it for so many years due to your service in the military and academy. Things have definitely changed around here and I am sure you are up there shaking your head; however, the one thing that never changes is you are still in our hearts and on our mind.
I love you brother!

Trooper Linn, time has passed but the memory of your brothers in law enforcement that night will never leave.
I was the first fire fighter/emt to arrive.
The level of compassion, professionalism and love displayed that night left an image with me that will never diminish.
Your fellow Troopers, Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies, Police Officers from Ranson and Charlestown. These officers, every one of them, assisted in our efforts.
I had only met you twice, and was glad that I had that opportunity.
I learned that night, of your family and the impending loss that would be realized. But I saw, first hand, the brotherhood, the unyielding fellowship of your Law Enforcement brothers and sisters. In that tragically sad night, I saw the very best that our great state of West Virginia had to offer.
I didn't feel it was appropriate to leave a comment, not being a member of law enforcement, until time had passed.
To his wife and children, please allow me to extend my deepest condolences and know that I have said a prayer for you every anniversary.
To Trooper Linn, rest easy. Thank you for your service to our beloved Republic and to the state of West Virginia.
Respectfully,

It's been a long time since I've left you anything on here. We miss you every single day and I want you to know we are all doing well, and are very happy! Paige graduates in 8 months and will be going off to college! Can you believe it??? Madeline is enjoying 4th grade so far, and is going to try playing indoor soccer this fall! I know you are protecting us day in and day out. I can't believe it's been almost 8 years since I last saw you. We love you Brian.
