Words can not express the sorrow and heartbreak we felt upon learning of Officer Cassidy's passing and the events that led up to it. Being a part of the law enforcement community and its loved ones, our hearts ache even more for your family and all of those that had the privilege and honor to know and love Officer Cassidy. From what we are reading and hearing, this husband, this father, this son, this brother, this uncle, this friend, this police officer was a "True American Hero". You are all in our thoughts and prayers as you are in the thoughts and prayers of those Americans that still have respect for human life and respect for police officers and the sacrifices that they make every day when they put on that uniform and walk out the door to protect and to serve the law-abiding citizens of this country. We can only hope that some day things will change so that those in law enforcement and all emergency responders will once again be given the respect and support that they so rightly deserve.

Charles Cassidy spent a lifetime protecting those who needed it whether they were innocent victims or not and today we have to remember him and those officers who went before him, because a coward with no soul decided to play god. I am sick to my stomach seeing what has transpired in this city this week and this year, a city that I used to call home- that I will always call home. I have met many wonderful officers from the PPD and pray for them all.. but most of all I pray we catch this coward and may God make the rest of that persons stay on this planet absolute hell. For that is what he has done to this community and to Ofc Cassidy's Family. God Bless you Sir..
We salute you and hope you give your fellow officers the strength to carry out the duty that you have so selfishlessly done for twenty five years. God Bless you Mrs Cassidy and your 3 children.

I AM A WARRIOR
by Jon F. Hooper
I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

Rest in Peace my Brother, you deserve it. You've given 25 yrs of your life protecting the citizens of Philadelphia, you are a true WARRIOR!

My prayers are with the Philadelphia Police Department, and espically the Friends & Family of Officer Cassidy.
God Bless the Cassidy Family, may God watch over and keep you strong in your time of grief.
God Bless You Officer Cassidy and may you rest in peace. You passed away on All Saints Day, fitting that you went on to God's Police Department being the Saint here in this city you were. It is just tragic and so very unfair that you were taken from everyone in such a senseless manner. May the animal/dirtbag that did this be soon resting 6 feet closer to the devil that in a 6x6 cell.
Officer Cassidy, May the four winds carry you to the Great Spirit in the Sky, where you will rest with Him in peace forever.
God Bless you sir, God bless your family, friends and your brother and sister officers on Philadelphia Police Department.
