I've known "Chuck" for 13 yrs. I've worked with him! I've talked with him and I know that with all the kind words many have said just about anything I say now would merely be repetitious. So i say that he personified what was the best in us all. He was a great co-worker, teacher and leader. I have nothing but fond memories; his passing saddens me deeply and I miss him dearly. There's is nothing more sad than a fallen hero and protector of many. I say these words with a heavy heart and tear filled eyes! "I miss you Chuck!" My prayers and condolences go out to the family and all who grieve the loss of such a wonderful human being.

There’s something comforting in talking about the people you love, something concrete in the fact that you want everyone else, even those who have never met that person, to love them as much as you do. When someone you love dies, you talk about them and tell their stories and try to make everyone understand just how much you loved and miss that person. And people listen, and through you, they come to know the fallen. The telling of stories is called oral tradition and it's been going on since man has been around. The stories we tell about Officer Cassidy will help him live on through us. People who have never met him know how much he touched people's lives based simply on stories and memories of others. Innumerable people were touched by Officer Cassidy's life. In his death, let us help him continue to touch others by carrying on his stories, honoring him with our deeds, and taking him with us in our hearts wherever we go.

To The Family & Friends of Officer Cassidy,

Watching these events unfold is so painful, but seeing the show of solidarity and support from the Police community is heartwarming. What a tribute to a man who lived his life as a Hero, and died the same way. My thoughts and prayers are with you for always. Please know that the death of an Officer is never forgotten by those who live with the randomness of it everyday. I pray that you will get through these hard times by seeking comfort from your memories. GOD bless you. Rest In Peace Officer Cassidy.

Officer Cassidy worked in the district that I grew up in, therefore he spent many hours protecting me and my neighborhood. I would like to give my deepest condolences to his family and pray that his soul will rest in peace.

Deeply sorrowful, I leave a reflection for a brave, professional and well respected Police Officer killed by a cowardly enemy. I hope the community will show appreciation for the sacrifice Officer Cassidy
has made, and outrage for this violent attack. To the citizens in this community, I ask that you do your civic duty and punish this ruthless criminal for the brutal murder of this decent husband and father. With swift justice, sentence this murderer to the most severe penalty. Officer Cassidy, may the memory of your heroism, service and sacrifice remain forever. May God bless you, your wife and children as well as the rest of your family. And God bless your fellow brother and sister officers in the Philadelphia Police Department. AC
