I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the woman they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Officer Lawless. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.
From reading the reflections left for Michelle, she sounds like she was a great woman with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew her in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Michelle's life and the WOMAN that she was. Remember that Michelle's life was about so much more than the way she died. Michelle will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember her.
Officer Lawless, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

I just wanted your family to know that I had the pleasure of knowing you. I worked with Michelle out in West Broward where I am assigned. I met Michelle while working an operation off of US27 and SW 26th Street. Michelle and I would sit and talk for hours. Michelle and I share a love for animals. She was very passionate about her job, she even tried to recruit me. It is an absolute tragic that Michelle's life ended so soon. Michelle will be missed. All of your friends in Weston will truely miss you. Rest in peace Michelle, watch over all who wear a badge. You will never be forgotten.

To all that have given support and kind words to my sister I thankyou. I wish all could have known her, she was the most centered and grounded person I have known. She could bring a smile to anyone and find the beauty in everything. If she had to be taken please all know that this was her love and passion to protect our resources. She was most at home when she was outside in the beauty and peace of nature. I will miss our talks michelle love always april

Bless your heart and soul Michelle. I hope you see my husband in heaven. I also lost my husband this year to an ATV accident while he was on duty for the Ripon, California Police Department. It also flipped on top of him. And to Michelle's family, my heart goes out to you. It is so painful to loose someone without warning, without saying goodbye. There will be such a huge hole in your life that will remain empty. I would hope and pray that you will find comfort in our Heavenly Father. I am so sorry for your loss. May God be with all of Michelle's survivors in their sorrow, mourning and grief.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Lawless, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest
