I pray for his wife and children and their loss. I only met Tate once but have served with his brother Chet for years and also have had the priveledge to know his father, both of whom are also police officers. All of these men and their families are outstanding people who I know have the strength to pull through this difficult time but will never forget. Be strong and know you are loved.

I met Tate and his family when he first started with Holbrook PD; my brother was one of his FTO's. He was an all around amazing person and police officer. His death is a huge loss to the law enforcement family and he will be greatly missed! As the wife, sister, and friend of police officers I pray each and every day that they will be safe no matter where they are or what they are doing. My thoughts and prayers are with Christie, the children, the family and Casa Grande PD at this time of grief and sadness. A hero has been lost. Tate, you will never be forgotten. Thank you and God Bless.

To Christy and the kids:

I'm so sorry for the loss of Tate...He was a awesome officer but more importantly he was a Great Husband, loving father, and dedicated provider and proud of his family roots, especially his father. Although we never worked for the same agency, I had several opportunities to work with him while he was with Holbrook PD and then later assigned to the Gang Task Force.

My fondest work memory with Tate was on New years eve 1997 when a DUI driver made a left turn in front of his patrol car and the resulting collision totalled out both his patrol car and the drunk's. Tate was really mad at the fact his cruiser was destroyed and at the drunk driver who caused it. Because it was New Years eve, DPS, NCSO and HPD were all working a mulit-agency DUI taskforce and I congratulated him on catching the first DUI of the night...He pondered a moment and smiled(that kid smile)when he looked at it that way and actually felt kinda proud of the accomplishment.

Fortunately I got to see Tate and Christy back in July (2007)in Casa Grande. I hadn't seen them both in years and it was good to catch up on old times. So whenever I see Tate in my minds eye, I see him enjoying an anniversary dinner with his wife both of whom still looked as much in love as they did in High school.

I'm glad that Tate was a part of my life and my families life through church and bible study. It left me, Kim and the family with a lot of fond memories.

May God Bless you and the kids, Christy and give you strength.

Jeff Eavenson and family.

"My Brother"

Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was idealistic and believed he could make a difference.
He was immensely proud of the uniform and the badge and what they represent.
He felt privileged to be of service to his department, his community and to his country.

He was a cop.

Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was friendly, courteous, and polite, yet firm.
He laughed and joked, but was serious when necessary.
He was competent, trained, and professional.

He was a cop.

Although I never met him, I knew him.
He had a strong sense of right and wrong and became
frustrated when true justice became sidetracked.
He felt the sharp criticism that goes with the job, but he
never wavered.
He stood by and for his fellow officers.

He was a cop.

Although I never met him, I knew him.
He longed for his family during the long hours.
He worried about them during his shifts and the lonely
weekends, holidays and midnights when they were apart.
He felt guilty about the lost time, but knew his calling
and prayed they would understand.

He was a cop.

Although I never met him, I knew him.
He was a good son, a loving husband, and a devoted father.
He was dedicated to the profession and cared about the
people he served.
He wanted to do the best job that he could and strived to
be the best he could be.
He was a good citizen and a good neighbor.

He was a cop.

Yes, I did know him.
He was a cop, he was my Brother.

Rest In Peace Brother! We have the watch...
