Although I had only recently been afforded the opportunity to meet Deputy Sherrill, it was obvious that he had a passion for Law Enforcement and the community which he served. Deputy Sherrill will be greatly missed and his family is in all of our prayers.

I check this website on an almost daily basis. To say I was shocked to see Dale Sherrill's name would be a gross understatement.
I was assigned to a district in deep east Texas in September 2006. Marion County was one of my assigned counties and as I made the rounds to meet investigators and sheriffs, Dale Sherrill was one of the first people I met. He was very nice and helpful. I assisted in an investigation some months later that turned out to not be a criminal offense and spoke to him on the phone about the deal.
I've since transferred to a district in central Texas and sorry that I won't be there for the service.
I know of no words that will suffice. No words that are adequate, however, I would like for the family, friends and his fellow deupties to know there are folks all across this country that will lift you up in prayer before the Almighty. May you each experience the eternal love and endless blessings of our Lord and Savior.

To the Sherrill family,
I did not know Dale that well, but I did know that he was a very outgoing and kind person. Words can not describe the pain of the loss of a loved one. I hope that you know we will be here for you and your families for anything you need. You, along with the Marion County family, will be in our prayers, and to Dale, rest well my brother we will take it from here.
