Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jason Edward Mooney
As I write I can’t help but think how shallow, hollow, and futile any words of mine must be to describe our loss in comparison to the family's grief and anguish. The words I chose are of no consequence in comparison to that of the absence of Jason.
We can only pray that our Heavily Father assuage your loss of this, your most outrageous fortune. On behalf of a grateful nation, a somber law enforcement community and a saddened neighborhood, we can only pray that the Grand Architect of the Universe takes Jason’s soul into his loving hands. Only you, the family of the fallen, truly appreciate the sacrifice that has been laid upon the alter of freedom. Please know that he can rest in peace knowing that we have his watch from here, for he has completed his tour.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.
Not only did he give his all for this country but also for all the ones who wear the badge of law enforcement.
Hope these words will help in some way to the family, friends, loved ones and all who knew DS Mooney to make it through some of the dark times in the next few weeks.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL JOB WELL DONE

I was just reading all of the letters of condolence for our recent fallen Deputy McCormack. I was very moved to read the letters from all over the country and I noticed while doing so that many came from the east coast. I mentioned to my wife last night as I prepared for bed that I had read many letters from Virginia, New York, New Jersey, and Florida and that the east was very sensitive and cared deeply for the law enforcement family. I am deeply saddened to be exchanging condolences with the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. We share in the pain that you are experiencing in the loss of a brother and a friend. Please be strong and find something positive to take away from this tragic loss.
DeputyJason Mooney was dedicated to public service and for this he has been rewarded with a place in heaven next to those servants who went before him. He will be watching over his family and friends with love. I know that the law enforcement family all across this great country is grieving with you all. Our prayers are with you. Thank you Jason for your sacrifice, you were an honorable man. Rest in Peace.
