Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jason Edward Mooney

Neither I nor my husband knew Deputy Mooney personally, however several of my husband's friends served with him. From everything we have heard, he was an amazing man.
To his fiance, I am so very sorry for your loss. I pray that you be comforted and that you can always remember the good times that you had with Jason.
To his parents, as already said below, you raised a good man... a man who spent his life serving his country then his local county. It seems he was a defender by nature, a true hero. I am sorry for your loss and I pray for your healing in this difficult time.
To his brothers and sisters in uniform, there has been a wave of pain felt by each and everyone of you this week, I have felt that echoing pain in my home. I ask that you are all careful in your daily tours of duty, and I pray for your healing and safety each and everyday!!

Regardless of the patches we wear on our shoulders or the shields we pin to our chests, when a fellow Cop makes the ultimate sacrifice, we all mourn the loss. Rest in peace Deputy Mooney, but watch over your loved ones, and over us all.

I received chills down my spine when I read this. My brother, Jason Eric Mooney, is a Sergeant with the Peru Police Department. The last words any one wants to hear are "officer down" Our county just lost one of our finest on July 5, 2007, Detective David E. Rich. As the wife, daughter and sister of law enforcement officers, my heart goes out to his family and friends. God bless!

As a lawman who is coming to the end of my career it saddens me deeply to read of the death of a man so young just starting out in his chosen career.

Even though I didn't know Jason personally, I grieve along with his family, friends and coworkers.

"Rest in Peace my brother, your duty is now done, God hath called you home today as he did his only son.
It's time to sleep my brother and rest with those above, for an angel has taken your place today so God can show you his love.
You have done well my brother, you met death square in the eye, but it still hurts to think of you and many of us will cry.
Goodbye my dear brother, your duty is now complete, do not despair you're not alone for soon we all shall meet."

To Sheriff Jett and the members of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, thoughts and prayers to all of you from northwestern Virginia.

What a mighty army God is putting together..yet it grieves us to part from those that we love so very much!

Deputy Mooney served us well, let us always remember him and honor his gift of service.

God's blessing to all of you who serve and to the families who love one go before us. May God grant us a peace until Jesus parts the eastern sky to take each of us who have accepted Jesus as our savior home to be forever with him in glory. There we shall all meet again.
