The wound will heal with time but the scar remains forever so he is never forgotten.

I am sickened by the loss of any officer, but to lose one in your own family to a drunk driver is just numbing. There are no words to express my feelings for his family. This man dedicated his life to protecting others, both while in the military and as a police officer. Scott will not be forgotten.

It is such a tremendous loss to lose such a dedicated officer and loving father. He will surely be missed by all the lives he touched, but he will be remembered and the Lord is smiling upon him in heaven. God bless Scott and his family and friends who are dealing with this tragic loss.

Scott and I became friends after he transferred to the Seaport Unit from a Drug task force approx. 2yrs ago.
I had the priviledge of training Scott in the duties of being a Seaport Officer.
Scott was an aggressive Officer and I was impressed on his investigative abilities and how he had that sixth sense, so to speak, on finding the real thugs and dopers.
Prior to joining JSO, Scott served as Naval Officer for 20+ years ,retiring as a Chief.
He never slowed up and was always looking for the action.
After our friendship developed ,I had the opportunity of meeting Scott's wife(WIT), which he loved dearly, his dogs, and visited his home on ocassions.
Scott was a true friend.
I think he, like I, could count your true friends on one hand.
We spoke a great deal about family life, the job, religion, and extra curricular activities.
He loved the game of golf and would sometimes call me when he was on the course and jokingly say that he was outscoring Retired Officer Bill Baer((Scott's best friend).
Scott was a great Officer and asset to this Department.
It's such a tragedy in way he passed, however , he died doing something he loved.
As as evident by his sign in screen(Police computer) Scott had a love for the Lord.
On his sign in screen he would always type (in the rider section), J.C.(Jesus Christ).
Scott, it was great knowing you brother and you will truely be missed.
Prayers to the family.

It was an honor to know Officer Scott Bell in the short seven years that he worked with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
Scott often worked with me in the Mayport area before recently moving to the Blue Squad.
Scott was an efficient police officer and he was dedicated to the members that he served with, as well as his community. I remember quite well one of the last conversations that we had at Hanna Park in the Mayport area a few months ago. Scott told me that if anything happened to him, he was ready to go because he was a Christian. It was not that anything in particular led us into that realm of conversation, but I'm glad that he shared those coments with me as I look back on the events of Friday October 12th.
We will miss Scott and we pray for his family, as well as his police family.
May God bless Scott's family as we hold him in special memory at this time of grief and loss.
