I met Sheriff's Deputy McCormack one time when he responded to a call at my home. He was so very great with myself, my 6 year old son, and my neighbors son, he made such an impression on me. I cannot believe we lost such a great person. RIP.

Although our time working together was short, your impact will last forever. It was not hard to see the love that you have for your wife and children, but also the love you had for the job as well. You will be missed but not forgotten and your brothers will see to it that your family is safe in your absence.
Watch over us Gary as we continue your watch. I only hope that we can carry on in the manner that you would have. RIP My Brother

While serving as an Intern with GCSD, I had the chance to speak to Deputy McCormack. While I never got to ride with him, it is true that he was a class act. As everyone else has said, McCormack was a very funny person that made a great first impression. I know that the Officers I rode with spoke very highly of Deputy McCormack, being sound in tactics and in personality. When I heard that a GCSD Deputy had died, I had to pull off the highway. All I could think about were the officers that I hold as role models in my mind. The men and women of GCSD work hard each day to keep this county safe. My heart goes out to Deputy McCormack's squad, the Patrol division, and most of all his wife and kids. I know that the Department will take good care of them.
Godspeed 637.
