Reflections for Police Officer Nicki James "Nick" Erfle
Officer Erfle, thank you for all of your contributions to society as a law enforcement officer as well as the honor, courage, and commitment to duty that it takes to suceed in the law enforcement field.
My father is a police officer in Norfolk, Virignia, and trying to transfer to Phoenix, and I am a Mesa Police Explorer. God bless you and rest in peace!
You are a true example of the song Never Let Go by Bryan Adams
"Can you lay your life down, so a stranger can live?
Can you take what you need, but take less than you give?
Could you close every day, without the glory and fame?
Could you hold your head high, when no-one knows your name?
That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say.
We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, 'coz you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.
Can you lose everything, you ever had planned?
Can you sit down again, and play another hand?
Could you risk everything, for the chance of being alone?
Under pressure find the grace, or would you come undone?
That's how legends are made, at least that's what they say?
We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, 'coz you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.
We say goodbye, but never let go.
We live, we die, 'but you can't save every soul.
Gotta take every chance to, show that you're the kinda man who;
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go.
Will never look back, never look down,
and never let go."

I just thinking about how much citizens never appreciate the job you do to keep us safe. Then I see those who do care, like all these reflections posted just hours after your death. I know I am not part of the family yet, but I feel like I already am. I am torned apart when I know any officer is down. After all the work you've done, after all the battles of illness you fought, this is what it comes down to. I guess St. Michael needed another warrior angel. Keep fighting for us, Officer. You've done wonders for us here. You will be missed, and you will always be appreciated. Godspeed and sweet dreams.

I remember you from the time I worked intake and the easy going and fun nature you possessed. Adam remembers your easy laughs and all around great personality.
My heart broke for your family today. For you sweet children who will miss their daddy's hugs. For your wife who has lost her prince.
Our family prays for yours and for the law enforcement family. God be with them and give them strength through these times of sorrow.
Rest brave Hero. Join Cortez, Holly, Dad, Schultz, Yoos, White, Wolfe, Salmon, and countless others in the home of our Father. Enjoy the easy smiles, and until we are all once again united, rest in peace.
