To all the Phoenix brothers in blue, may Peace be with you during this tragic time. With most of my family living in Phoenix, it's always been my home away from home and my heart breaks for all of you as if I were a citizen. Know that the nation grieves with you and we will forever remember your fallen hero. Though we do not know your faces, we are your PD Family. To Officer Erfle's wife, children, and family, our prayers are with you. If I could give you the answers I would, if I could bear some of the pain for you and give you a moments peace, I would. God Bless.

An Angel in the sky must leave his place of rest,
Gently tucking his wings beneath his armored vest.
For Duty has called, there is much work to do
Little did he know, this one is dressed in blue.
Arriving on the scene, he knows just what to say,
"Follow me, fallen brother, I'll show you the way."
"Your duty has ended, your work is now through."
"Come hang your hat beside mine, I'm a cop, too."
Rest in Peace

The message was rapid as eagles can fly,
From neighbor to neighbor, on waves through the sky.
A hero has fallen, another’s been slain
Another young family is left with the pain.
It hasn’t been long, only short weeks at most
When it was reported while working his post
A great one succumbed while giving his all
Another young family, another did fall
The crying is heard across desert and sand
Another ‘s been called by God’s loving hand.
How can we continue, for those we hold dear?
How can we can we continue, to wipe away tears?
For these are young men that are greater by far,
And never consider how grand they all are.
They move toward the heavens with meek gentle ways,
And leave us behind to echo their praise.
Shout out for them all who answered the call
And pray for their blessings, for giving their all.
My sympathies go out to the families of all slain heros.

A grateful citizen.

"The Badge"
He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.
He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.
Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.
He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.
His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.
He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.
And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.
But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.
Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.
Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.
So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.
In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.
Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

When will our borders be more secure so that we can stop murderers coming into our country and killing our citizens? I am reminded of Phoenix Officer Ken Collings who was killed years ago by an illegal, who after murdering Ken went back to Mexico to hide. It took years to get his murderer, at least this time the murderer was caught immediately.
My prayers and thoughts are with the family of Officer Erfle. Thank you for making our streets safer. You sir are a true Hero!!

To Officer Erfle
Thank you for your service and rest in peace.
To Officer Erfle family
This is a dark time for you , but think of things that will bring a smile to you, those thinks that identified and made him the man he was. My family prayers are with your family and we understand the feeling of lost you have (Joshua Norris EOW July 5th 2007), since we have just made it thru to the other side of our own dark time. You will cry more tears than you could every believe one could, but he will always be with you, that gentle wind which touches your cheek to dry your tears is him from heaven.

Nick,
I served with the Tolleson Police Depatment for a bit and have since moved on and to another state. I worked closely with a lot of you Phoenix Officers and miss that. I check ODMP every morning hoping never to see another AZ officer on it, and I came across you.
My heart saddens when I think about your family and the grief they must feel, but I know, and I hope they soon realize, you gave all in doing what you loved, and I am sure you are patrolling streets of Gold.
Although I no longer serve as an officer, I will NEVER lose my brotherhood with all of you who do.
God Bless Nick!

Clustered at the pearled gate,
An honor guard so tall.
A chosen breed of fearless men,
that gave their very all.
Some were old and some were young,
but all were in their prime.
All have paid the highest price,
though none had chose the time.
A medal hangs around their neck,
that glistens in the light.
Presented for their valor,
in the quest for what is right.
These men that walked the darkest streets,
and stood in trouble's way.
Knew the time might come for them,
when they'de be called to pay.
They paid the highest price there is,
they gave their very life.
They left behind their loved ones,
Often children and a wife.
But now they stand a tribute,
to what we all defend.
A policeman sworn to duty,
My partner, yes, my friend.
Rest in peace brother!
