You walked the streets and heard the call,
You faced the threat, stuck through it all.
You did your finest, this is true,
You're a hero first, the one in blue!
God bless you Officer Somohano you made the ultimate sacrifice and wore your badge with honour. Your shift is over now, may you rest in peace and remember that your sacrifice was not in vain! God bless you and your family may they feel the warmth of your presence in every summer breeze.

God knows this has been one terrible week for all of us in the law enforcement community. I cannot wait for it to end!! It made me sick to my stomach to hear about your passing because of the actions of one sick depraved person. I pray your family stays strong and close to God during this terrible time. I pray that all of our brothers and sisters in law enforcement bring your killer to face the appropriate judgement and punishment. Stay safe and God bless all of us in law enforcement.

For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:" - Shakespeare

I heard of this shooting very shortly after it happened, even though I live in the midwest. I immediately called a fellow co-worker in our Miami office to see if they had leads on the suspect which were not shown on the news. I can say my entire office wanted to come to Miami and help hunt this coward down. I am sure he'll get his deserved punishment.
My heart goes out to the family and friends of officer Somohano. May God bless all of them. Rest in peace brother.

To Officer Somohano family, friends and his family in blue,
Having retired down here, I have come to know many of my fellow brothern; so what started out as a wonderful fall day in South Florida quickly became a sad one as I heard of the news.
I never knowing had the priviledge to met Jose, but know he is an unsung hero because he went into the community he loved and told them, nothing will happen to you today because I am here.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

There is no logical or reasonable explanation to justify why one of the chosen guardians of this world has been taken from us so violently. Our only solace is to know that justice will descend swiftly on the demon responsible, and the memory of brother Somohano will be honored and cherished so long as our hearts can feel his loss. My deepest condolences to the Somohano family, my rothers and sisters of the Miami-Dade Police Department, and the citizens of the city of Miami...rest assured your loss will not be in vain.
