To the family of Officer Jose Somohano, God bless. Your husband and father has given his life for the safety of others. The sheep are protected by the Sheep Dog. The wolf has taken another good officer. Officers now have to take back control of the streets the old fashion POLICE way.
This has got to stop!

I have been where you fear to go.....
I have seen what your fear to see....
I have done what you fear to do....
All these things I've done for you.
I am the one you lean upon....
The one you cast your scorn upon...
The one you bring your troubles to....
All these people I've been for you....
The one you ask to stand apart....
The one you feel should have no heart....
The one you call the man in blue....
But I am human just like you....
I'm not always what you ask of me....
So take this badge and take this gun....
And when you watch a person die....
And hear a battered baby cry....
Then do you think you can be....
All of these things you ask of me ?
Rest In Peace Jose,QTH Heaven.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Somohano and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Officer Somohano has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.
To the family and friends of Officer Somohano, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Somohano is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

I was working when the message came out over the computer that 4 dade county officers were shot and 1 had died. Even though we are 5 hours away from Dade north on 95 the tension rises. The guys on my squad were eagerly wanting suspect info. We want to let all of Dade county officers know that if he came our way.. well we were waiting. These are violent times you are a HERO. Where would the world be today without HEROS. God blees your bloved ones.

When I heard the fallen officer's name, I was praying it wasn't my old high school buddy. But it was. And eventhough I hadn't seen Jose since we graduated, his name and face were as fresh in my mind as ever. That is the impact that he made on me. He was a great guy! Thank God the evil man who did this to you and your family is now gone. Rest in peace Jose and my prayers are with your children and family.
