Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Corporal Arlie Jones

Words cannot express the sadness that I feel for your Department at this time. To lose one member is tragic enough but to lose three at one time is truly incomprehensible. May God protect your fellow Officers and may you rest in eternal peace "Old Timer".

TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS FROM MY FAMILY TO YOURS, GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND FOR WHAT CPL JONES HAS DONE FOR ODESSANS. LOOKING OUT FOR OUR SAFETY IS THE ONLY THING THAT ANY OFFICER DOES AND PUTS HIS OWN LIFE IN HARMS WAY. I BELIEVE THAT THESE FINE MEN WOULD HAVE DONE ANYTHING TO PROTECT THE CITIZENS AMONG WEST ODESSA THAT HORRIBLE NIGHT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!! WE KNOW YOU ARE STILL PROTECTING US FROM ABOVE , GOD BE WITH ALL THESE FAMILIES AND REMEMBER THESE OFFICERS ARE NEVER FORGOTTEN.

As I see my brothers and sisters come back from Iraq and Afghanistan, all military members must remember those who are fighting on the home front. The men and women of the police forces risk as much as anyone in the military and therefor it in with honor that I salute my brother. Thank you for your service sir. Your sacrifice does not go unseen.

Arlie was a police officer's officer. I remember clearly an evening we spent surveilling a mobile home park off of East 8th Street (due to burglaries and vandalism). I believe this was in 1995. His humor and candor made a night in a hot, humid trailer seem very short. It was during this time that I discovered Arlie possessed a strong Christian belief. I will miss him very much.
