Germaine, my friend.."my dog" the world is a lesser place without you. For those of us who knew you, speaking you name says everything. You were an amazing person and will be sorely missed. I will always remember the times working with you, responding to calls, you keeping me safe. As well as the times watching in amazement, as you crushed softballs well out of the park. Just knowing you has made me a better person. Until we meet again my friend...

THE BEAT

WRITTEN BY J. PATA

LEATHER IS POLISHED AND BRASS IS SHINED,
THEY DIG DEEP FOR STRENGTH TO FIND.

SADNESS OVERWHELMS ON THIS AUGUST DAY,
A BROTHER IN BLUE HAS GONE AWAY.

HIS IRON HORSE WAS RODE WITH PRIDE,
AND ANGELS WEEPED THE DAY HE DIED.

HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS NOW GATHER IN SHOCK,
REMEBERING THE POLICEMAN, HUSBAND, AND JOCK.

SHOWING HIS PRIDE AS HE PLAYED,
WEARING HIS SHIELD THE SAME WAS DISPLAYED.

A LINE OF CHARIOTS WITH LIGHTS AGLOW,
THEY MOVE TOGETHER SOMBER AND SLOW.

CITIZENS CRY, SALUTE, AND PRAY,
WATCHING HIM MOVE SILENTLY ON HIS WAY.

AS HE ENTERS THE GARDEN OF STONE,
OFFICERS WHO PASSED WELCOME HIM HOME.

TOM 103 YOUR SERVICE HERE IS COMPLETE,
HEAVEN NOW NEEDS YOU ON A BRAND NEW BEAT.

I was fortunate to have the pleasure of meeting Germaine and also seeing him crack that ball. Everytime he went to bat you just knew it was going out of the park.

As the wife of a RRDPS officer I truly did not understand the bond these brothers have until this tragic accident. They genuinely care about each other. They had Officer Casey to watch their backs while he was here on earth and now they have an Angel on each and everyone of their shoulders because he is stilling watching their back. I have no doubt that he will be with them as they patrol the streets of Rio Rancho. I recently got to know a few more RRDPS officers and I am grateful that they are at my husband's side.

Lisa, Melissa, and Mitchell my heart goes out to you. May God Bless you and comfort you in your time of need.

Justine--wife of RRDPS Officer

Officer Casey, You will be sorely missed. Your presence in this department has been an asset and an inspiration. Your absence is a painful wound felt by all. The example you left behind of a kind man, an exemplary officer, and a true hero will be cherished and remembered for all time.

The life you led, the friends you made, the people you helped; all these are things we should all hope to emulate. You were one of those people that truly found the meaning of life. The only thing wrong with your presence on Earth is the fact that it was tragically cut short. Brother, you made us all better people. You stood on that blue line as an example of what we all should want to be - for that we will be forever in your debt.

I did not know Officer Casey, but I had a chance several years ago to ride with some Rio Rancho Motors in a Rodeo In Dallas. They were a fine bunch of officers and I'm sure Ofc. Casey was just as good. My partner was recently involved in a near fatal accident and will have a year or more of rehab ahead of him. I pray for your family officer Casey, Ride In Peace.
