Troop, I am so sorry that your family has been forced to start this emotional roller coaster. Rest easy knowing that each and everyone of us will hold your family and friends in our prayers. God will bless the children and we will try to comfort the adults. We will take our strength from heros like you.
God speed sir. I know for a fact that there are at least 37 troopers at the gate that welcomed you in. Enjoy your time with them until the rest of us can get up there with all of the "great ones."

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Trooper Holland and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Trooper Holland has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.
To the family and friends of Trooper Holland, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Trooper Holland is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Trooper Jack P. Holland Jr. There is no greater sacrifice than to lay down your life for the protection of others. I am even more moved and saddened by your passing since August 21 is my birthday. God needed a trooper in heaven today. May you rest in peace and your family get some relief from the power of "The Thin Blue Line" for they will forever be embraced by all in Law Enforcement.
