It is especially hard for a family to lose someone so young. Your officer's story will be read at the roll calls of the Genesee County Sheriff's Office so that our deputies may reflect on his sacrifice. Thank you officer for your service to our country and community.

Norvelle,

I never had the opportunity to meet you, even though we worked the same schedule. I felt we did have contact while I was packaging your uniform at the lab. I felt many emotions as I handled your torn clothes and photographed your personal property. Sadness, pain, dismay and outrage that you were taken from your family, friends and our community. You are a true hero for your actions and sacrifice.

You and your family are in all our prayers and we will never allow your memory to fade.
