This is an incredibly terrible tragedy that points up how dangerous "on the job" can be. Technologically speaking,it looks like cars need to be equipped with bullet proof glass. To Sgt. Harrison, his family, and the members of the HCSO, our heartfelt sympathy to all of you. Rest in peace Sgt. Harrison, justice has been served.

I live in Bastrop Louisiana, Friday we had 2 City Detectives killed by gun fire. I was raised in Alabama, and in July 1978 my brother, was killed when his patrol crashed and burned. I received notice through PoliceLink a few minutes telling of Sergeant Ron Harrison's tragic death. You are in my Prayers, May God give you the strength you will need to get through the days ahead. My heart goes out to you.

Sgt. Harrison was in his patrol car, not engaged in any police matter, when he was senselessly killed. Serving for 20 years on the Sheriff's Department, providing public safety for the citizens of Hillsborough County. Another hero to head to another beat, another assignment. Good Luck SGT.
