Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Although you are gone, there are memories that will never fade. From the first time I met you at the academy, to the time the former diving board said "250 lbs max". I learned to know and respect you because of your personality and ability to always smile, even when having to give the lunch report. You were one of the best, and the City of Gary is at a huge loss.
