Reflections for Sergeant Christopher Reyka
Rest in peace Sgt. Reyka. Too many South Florida police officers have been taken from us in the past year. I hope you and the rest of them continue to watch over all your brothers and sisters here at home in the US and those of us who are just a little far from home. Even though I am not a Devil Dog, SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!

Chris,
On the anniversary of your death, I wanted you to know, you have not and will not ever be forgotten. You will remain in the hearts and prayers of everyones life you ever touched. I have had the pleasure of meeting and speaking to your wife. She is truely a magnificent and remarkable person. I will keep her and your kids in my prayers forever. As for your Pompano Beach P.D. and BSO family, they continue to work hard to bring your killer to justice. I will keep them in my prayers as well, praying that none of them pay the ultimate sacrifice as you did. Rest in peace brother, you will never be forgotten.

Chris,
I can't believe it has been almost a year. I think about you everyday and my heart still aches. My little cubicle at work has your picture, badge number and our Pompano group picture when we were in Field Force. Brian has been doing a great job with fundraisers. I bought one of the decals and it is on my seat on my Harley. You will never be forgotten.
My prayers are with your family.

As each day passes, we miss you more and more. These unforgiven, souless cold hearted bastards breathe our free air. You served your country, county and friends well. Rest now brother for we will not until justice is served.
To the Reyka family, you area in my family's heart and prayers. Be strong at a time, for which is rough. Keep your father close to your hearts and mind. For he is with you each step of the way.
Rest in peace Sarge, we'll take it from here.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Sergeant Reyka. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.
From reading the reflections left for Christopher, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Christopher's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Christopher's life was about so much more than the way he died. Christopher will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.
Sergeant Reyka, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my late fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been almost five years but we still miss him terribly.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

I've thought of you alot today, Chris. I'm much more appreciative of Thanksgiving dinner with my family knowing how precious and precarious life is. There are alot of folks praying for and loving your family this Thanksgiving day, we're only sorry you're not here in person to enjoy it. We know you're here in spirit and in our hearts, and that'll do. You are loved and missed tremendously, Chris.

Chris and I were early childhood "best friends" while growing up in Fairborn Ohio. The last time we met was in 1980 and he had recently gotten out of the Marines. What a shock to be reading an on-line article today (11-7-07)and have his name jump out at me. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. And may there be no rest for the one(s) responsible for this terrible loss.

Chris...I don't think a day has gone by that I haven't mourned for you and your family.
Chris was an all around good person. He loved his job and putting bad guys in jail. I'll never forget his bright smile or his love for life.
