George, No words can express the senselessness of this untimely tragedy. You were a strong, vibrant young man with a bright future . You can rest in peace knowing that you left behind a wonderful wife, family and friends for whom will collectively see to it that your boys will be given every opportuniy to live a healthy and prosperous life. Rest easy hero, your watch on earth is over but will continue above with all those who have gone before you. Know your fellow brothers/sisters in blue will apprehend the coward who cut your life so short. To the family of Ofc Cortez, I am so sorry for your loss. Know your husband/daddy lost his life doing what he loved. Far to many taken far to soon.

Officer Cortez,
My heart goes out to you, your family, and your brothers in blue. May God watch over your loved ones in this difficult time. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and we may not know the reason he needed you so desperately yesterday. He calls upon his best officers to patrol the streets of Heaven. We will be there in time to protect God's Paradise with you, but not yet brother, not yet.
"Step forward now, Officer, you've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's Streets. You've done your time in Hell." ~ Unknown
Rest in Peace my brother, We'll take it from here.
