Sheriff Gresham was my 4th Great Grandfather. How coincidental that I later joined the ranks unbeknownst to me.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 178th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered.

It really angers me to know that your killer received a pardon after only serving five years for killing a sheriff who left a wife and five young children. Your children could not have even reached adulthood befre thier father's murderer was a free man. Disgraceful action by the governor.

Rest In Peace

YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE, WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU IS AN OUTRAGE. THE GOVERNOR AT THE TIME SHOULD HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP ON CHARGES OF AIDING AND ASSISTING A KILLER. PARDONS SHOULD NEVER, EVER BE ALLOWED WHEN LAW ENFORCEMENT IS INVOLVED

That you were stabbed performing your duties is horrible. That you were stabbed in the back by the Governor's pardon of your murderer is inexcusable. May God bless you and rest in peace, Brother.
