Family and Friends:
I am deeply saddened by Russel's passing. By all accounts, he left this world while upholding the highest traditions of the Law Enforcement profession. He did not avoid the dangers that lurk in the streets of our cities. On the contrary, Russel was proactive in the pursuit of the instincts and quest for right that was instilled in him during the training he received at the academy. I applaud him for that.
This may sound like a hollow condolence to some, but please understand that it comes directly from my heart and very soul. Russel entered an exclusive brotherhood when he entered the profession, and I hurt for him and for you and for all who are still active members.
I will always pray for Russel and all of the Brothers and Sisters in Blue. I will always worry about them in my retirement, with a hope that they will display the Valor that was displayed by Russel. He did the job that must be done by the few, because that majority don't want to accept the burden and responsiblity. He did it for them and for us.
May God bless Russel and receive his soul. May God keep all of us safe, especially the brave police officers. And may God keep a special eye on one of Russel's classmates .... my son.
Sincerely,
Dennis

Brother,

I did not know you but I have shed a tear for you. You will be forever in our hears and minds. You perished needlessly but nonetheless valiantly and honorbly. I know that is no consolation to your family but are a true hero. I know you will keep your watch of heaven in the same brave manner and until the day we meet God Bless you!!!
