Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Robert Anthony Kozminski

My son has been on the Battle Creek Police Force for 6 years, since he was 21 years old. Young men like
Mr. Kozminski literally put their precious lives on the
line for each of us and every day. What bravery and
commensurate professionalism they possess!!

May God bless his family and friends during this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

My heart breaks for Officer Kozminski's family and his precious daughter. I hope they will be comforted in knowing that people do care for them and will be praying for them in their dark hour. Bobby is a hero to us and is in God's "police force" now. Our prayers from the Volunteer State of Tennessee are with the Kozminski family.

We never knew officer Kozminski, but we wanted to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for what he and his co-workers do on a daily basis to protect all of us. Truly he is a hero who paid the ultimate price to protect a family. We am so thankful to all of you who are his co-workers...thank you for what you do to keep us safe. Thankfully, we've never had to seek your help in a safety concern, but knowing you are there if needed means the world to my husband and I.

This is a rough time for everyone at GRPD and all in Kent County. I thought I would share a brief writing that I found.

Danger is always near in the world of a cop, and it strikes suddenly and without warning. The words "Killed in the Line of Duty" are known far too well and they bring feelings of dread and fear. Another Officer falls and the Thin Blue Line grows thinner.......

But on the day of the funeral, the sun will reflect from the highly polished bills of a thousand garrison hats. Its rays will bounce brilliantly from the Shields pinned to a thousand chests. They will square their shoulders and come to attention, and as they close their ranks the Thin Blue Line will become a thick Blue Wall. The Blue Wall of strength and resolve.

Later, the day will come to a close and the sound of taps will fade into silence. A thousand in Blue will break ranks and solemnly walk away. The Wall will once again become the Thin Blue Line. But the line is no longer thinner, someone new has stepped forward to fill in the void and take their place on the Thin Blue Line. Even though the line sometimes grows thinner, it never breaks. It will always be there as it always has.......Honor, Duty, Courage, Committment.

Thank you for putting your life on the line so that the rest of us could enjoy many freedoms that most of us that for granted. Please continue to watch out for your fellow officers from Heaven.

I use to be a taxi driver in the city of Grand Rapids. I had issues with a customer that was getting somewhat unruley. They wouldnt pay, and were getting quite physical. His approach was simple, "pay or jail". Talking with him briefly he seemed like a pretty decent guy. I am no police officer I dont share the bond like his fellow officers, but its unfortunate that this had to happen to him. The city of GRMI lost a good police officer.

Officer Kozminski:

Thank you for your service to your community and may God Bless your family, friends and brothers and sisters on the GRPD. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this terrible, terrible time.

Godspeed.

July 9, 2007

Our prayers go out to your family. I have never lost a family member to a tragedy like this and I can't imagine how you feel. Although we do not go out into the field with the officers, we do however have a close bond with them and losing one of them would be harendous. Please know that all the VIP's and the Sturgis Police Dept. is thinking of you and many prayers have and will continue to be said for your family.
