I attended my brother-in-laws memorial yesterday (July 8th) in Seminole County Fl. He was killed in the line of duty on July 8th 1998. I feel the pain that Officer Kozminski's family is going through at this terible time. I wish that I had some words that would help, but I haven't found them yet. Find comfort in knowing that he is in a better place now and he is among some very good company. His life was ended way to early as most are. Every time a LEO is killed we all are less safe in our community. Hopefully his murderer will pay for his evil actions and not be allowed to harm anyone else. Rest easy Officer Kozminski, your Brothers in Blue will take it from here.

The policeman stood and faced his God,which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?
The policeman squared his shoulders and said.
"No, I guess I ain't because those of us who carry a badge can't always be a Saint."
I've had to work most Sundays
and at times my talk is rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny that wasn't mine to keep...
though I worked a lot of overtime when the bills got to steep.
And I never passed a cry for help
though at times I shook with fear,
and sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.
They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand,
I never expected or had too much, but if you don't...I'll understand"
There was a silence all around the throne where the Saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman.
You've borne you burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets.
You've done your time in Hell"

Rest in Peace Officer Kozminski, and know that you are a true hero! You will not soon be forgotten.

To the family and friends of Officer Kozminski my thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. I know all to well the pain and agony that you now feel. My friend Deputy Shane Britton was killed in the line of duty July 19th 2000. Although time goes on the memories of our loved ones last forever. Take comfort in the fact that your son, brother, father and friend was greeted at the gates of heaven by many that have gone on before him. He will forever be remembered as a hero.

Please forward my condolences and deepest sympathy to Officer Kozminski's Mother, Daughter and Family. I am a stranger to your family, but wanted to let you know that I care and am thankful for Bobby's dedication and service. Though danger is always a factor in LE, you can never be prepared for such a senseless tragedy. As a Mother, I can only imagine how hard this is for all of you. Hopefully your wonderful memories together will help carry you through the tough days ahead.
