Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Robert Anthony Kozminski

Dear Maria,
I was deeply saddened this morning to learn that the fallen officer was your son...please know that you are in my heart and prayers. I am so sorry for your tragic loss. Lean on God and your family...they will all be there for you, I know. Just know that he was doing what he loved and that he saved that mother and her children...what a sacrifice he made. I love you and will hold you and your family in my heart.
Love you, Nancy Williams (Cash Office)

I never dreamed it would be me,
my name for all eternity,
recorded here at this hallowed place,
alas, my name, no more my face.

"In the line of duty" I hear them say;
my family now the price will pay,
my folded flag stained with tears;
we only had those few short years.

The badge no longer on my chest,
I sleep now in eternal rest;
my sword I pass to those behind,
and pray they keep this thought in mind;

I never dreamed it would be me,
and with heavy heart and bended knee;
I ask for all here from the past,
Dear God, let my name be the last.

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.

My condolences to the Family of Officer Kozminski and his daughter(may the comfort of her faith in Jesus continue to be her strength).

To repeat the words of Chief Harry P. Dolan,GRPD, one cannot be more proud of an officer who makes the ultimate sacrifice protecting the community. More importantly, he wore the uniform with pride and represented the Department well. My memory of the working contacts that I had with Officer Kozminski were his respectful quiet presence and diligence in his duties.

God bless,

"Final Call"
An Angel In The Sky Must Leave His Place Of Rest,
Gently Tucking His Wings Beneath His Armored Vest.
For Duty Has Called, There Is Much Work To Do.
Little Did He Know, This One Is Dressed In Blue.

Arriving On The Scene, He Knows Just What To Say,
"Follow Me, Fallen Brother, I'll Show You The Way."
"Your Duty Has Ended, Your Work Is Now Through."
"Come Hang Your Hat Beside Mine, I'm A Cop, Too."

Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office
