We are praying for the family and all police officers as they try to deal with this senseless, tragic loss.
We want all our fine officers to know we support them!
We have been privileged to see Bobby grow up and become such a fine man.
There are no words to comfort Maria, Dick, Kristen, Danny, Amy,David,Nicole, Andy and their spouses and children we are thinking of them at this time.
Bobby is a hero having given his life for others. We will feel his loss deeply!

"The wicked flee if no man pursueth but the righteous are bold as a lion" -The National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial

I'm so sorry Bobby's name will be added to the walls of this national memorial, but I am thankful there is such a wonderful place for his name to be recorded, and him to be remembered. I was proud to serve in the same city; may his memory live forever.

My prayers are with you and your family. Last year we lost a dear friend, Jason Makowski, of the Dearborn Heights police department. These men and women put their lives on the line for us every day . It is appreciated by many of us, but they are not often told.

HE’S WALKING A BEAT IN HEAVEN,
WITH A NEW PARTNER TO HELP HIM ON,
UP BEFORE THE FIRST LIGHT OF MORNING,
WITH A SAD SMILE GREETING THE NEW DAWN.
HIS BADGE GLOWS BRIGHTLY WITH GLORY,
HIS BOOTS ARE STILL SHINY BLACK,
FOR THERE’S NOT MUCH DUST IN HEAVEN,
EXCEPT FOR SOME STARDUST ON HIS HAT.
THERE’S NOT MUCH TO DO,
FOR A COP IN BLUE,
ON HEAVEN’S LONELY BEAT.
DRY A LITTLE ONE’S TEARS,
SOOTHE AWAY SOME FEARS,
OR JUST WALK THE GOLDEN STREETS.
HEAVEN CAN BE,
A SAD PLACE TO BE,
FOR A COP WHO FELL TOO SOON.
WALKING THIS LONELY BEAT,
AMONG THE SUN’S FADING HEAT,
HE SMILES SADLY AT THE RISING NEW MOON.
ONCE IN A WHILE,
A STRAY TEAR WILL FALL,
EVEN THOUGH HEAVEN’S NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE ANY PAIN.
THINKING ABOUT THE WIFE,
HE LEFT BEHIND,
HIS ARMS ACHE TO HOLD HER JUST ONCE AGAIN.
HE’S WALKING A BEAT IN HEAVEN,
WITH OTHERS WHO FELT THE FALL,
BROTHERS TO ONE ANOTHER,
THEIR NAMES PROUDLY ON THE WALL

On behalf of the Whitehall Police Dept. and Muskegon Central Dispatch I would like to send my condolences to the Kozminski family, Ofc Kozminski's Daughter and the Men and Women of the Grand Rapids Police Dept.

I was working Saturday Night when GRPD requsested that we make contact with one of their off duty Officers. I spoke to a Seregant and was informed that there was an Officer killed my heart hit the floor and I felt like I had been hit with a ton of bricks.

As one of Ofc Kozminski co-workers wrote, we at Muskegon Central Dispatch will show Ofc Kozminski 10-42 as well.

Rest in Peace Brother in Blue

I grew up in a family of cops, and I became a paramedic. I honestly never thought I was brave enough to follow. People often tell me I am strong for what I do, and they could never do it. My response has always been, I am not strong, and I am not the hero. It is the PD that makes the scene safe for us, and for who ever needs help. You ARE a true hero, and my prayers are with your family. I know they are going through a sad time, but I hope they realize how proud they should be, you were nothing but brave, and you were the one trying to save lives that night! You are a true hero! Thank you for your sacrifice for the people on the N.E. end of Grand Rapids... this is the last place anyone would expect such violence. Thank you for seeing the danger of the situation and going in anyway. You are a true American Hero and I'm Proud that you served our city and our neighborhood!

KOZ, Thank you for all you did for the students of the Grand Rapids Public Schools. Thank you for the nights you spent off duty working at the many basketball and football games. Thank your for being apart of the protection blanket that has been placed over the youth of our city.

It is officers like yourself that help make our city schools better. Our hearts and prayers will be with you forever. At the start of each football or basketball game this year, our public safety staff will take a moment to remember you and the work you did for our children.

Good bless you my friend, and may be forever protect your daughter and family......GOD SPEED

A Final Call
An Angel in the sky, must leave his place of rest.....
Gently tucking his wings, beneath his armoured vest...
For duty has called, there is much work to do...
Little did he know, this one is dressed in blue.....
Arriving on the scene, he knows just what to say....
Follow me fallen brother, I will lead the way....
Your duty has ended, Your work is now through.....
Come hang your hat beside mine, I am a cop too.....
