Reflections for Police Officer Robert Anthony Kozminski

Bobby,
You will be greatly missed by all, especially those that knew you. The shift change locker room banter and occassional chuckle won't quite be the same without you quietly changing after a long night.

I know that you will closely watch over the rest of your team as they carry on with the work that you loved.

God bless you and your family, you are finally safe.

We miss you, Koz.

I wish there was more we could have done for you that night. I will never forget them calling for you over and over on the radio. I couldn't get there fast enough and for that, I'm sorry.

It still doesn't seem real. I don't know if it ever will.

Somebod killed a Policeman today and a part of America died. A piece of our country he swore to protect will be burried at his side. The beat he walked was a batlefield too. Just as if he had gone off to war. Though the flag of our nation won't fly t half mast. The suspect who shot him will stand up in court. With counsel demanding his rights. While a young widowed mother must work for her kids.
This is not the full poem and the Author is "unknown" God Bless you adn may you walk among the angels in heaven because you served your time in hell.

Oakland County Sheriff

God Bless this family and especially Officer Kozminski's daughter, may she know that her father is a true hero. They do not come any better. My father was a policeman for 30 years and everyday we worried about this. God will bless and take care of all of you believe that. I will pray for your family for a long time to come. Time is the only thing that will heal the wounds. Keep his memory alive for his daughter and kiss and hug her everyday... for her daddy. God Bless You all

Don't grieve for me for now I'm free!
I'm following the path God laid you see.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day ,
to laugh, to love, to work or play.
Task left undone must stay that way.
I found the peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remenbered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh , a kiss.
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tommorrow.
My lifes been full I savored much. Good
friends, good times, a loved's ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief.
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and peace to thee.
God wanted me now. He set me Free!

My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the Kozminski family, his daughter, girlfriend, and the entire GRPD. It is tragic to lose someone in the line of duty, doing what they loved. Please know that his memory will remain alive in those whose lives he touched, and others, like myself, who can relate to the pain being felt. I hope Officer Kozminski finds Kevin in heaven so those they left behind can be watched over...Rest In Peace.

My prayers for strength and peace go out to Officer Kozminski's family and friends.

Thank God for the men and women who risk their lives day in and day out so that we may live and enjoy time with our family more peacefully in our neighborhoods. It is these men and women who are there when we are in desperate need for protection. It is these men and women who show up when we call 911. It is these men and women who are the REAL heroes in our world.

God's Blessing and protection to all who are still on their watch.

Thank you....

At a time like this I find myself struck with one thought? Why the heck didn't I stay more in touch with that guy? I think Koz and I played basketball on our lunch hour every day for years back in HS. He was one of the nicest guys I knew. Nobody ever had a bad word to say about him.

Kailey, your daddy was an awesome guy. He had the best laugh you can imagine. Of course, you know this, but I'll be remembering it with you 'kay? God bless you sweetheart

To the family of Officer Kozminski our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time. We always ask why when something like this happens. We never know the real answer.
Just know that we as a law enforcement community are hear for you. We all lost a brother when Bobby died.
After September 11th, 2001 I heard a saying "God has one hell of a Police force now" Bobby has now joined that force.
Rest in Peace

I wanted to express my sincere condolence to the family of Officer Kozminski, even though I didnt know him, but I wanted the family to know that our heart pours out for his family. I wanted to address to the parents of Officer Kozminski, I can't even imagine the pain as parent you both are feeling, being a parent myself, I couldnt not stand by and not say anything. I just wanted to express to you that it was very hurtful to hear that this officer was shot in the line of duty. Its difficult to even type what I'm feeling right now...but at this point I will say...Keep GOD in your hearts and mind...He will see that just will be done.

As with all the full time officers around the nation, we who serve our communities on a volunteer basis as reserve police officers and sheriff deputies share in your sacrfice.

All who wear the uniform of a law enforcement officer feel this loss. We take the same risks and will honor your sacrifice with our continued dedication to supporting and protecting our certified brothers and our communities.

I will offer my final salute to you on Friday. May God protect and comfort both your families in this time of suffering.
